Yes, although I consider naniwa's achievements more impressive given the overall quality of play when jinro did it.

IdrA and HuK has also both reached Ro8 I think. But yeah it's more impressive now than before I would say since the compeition has only gone tougher and stronger.

GSL is the Global Standard. They are the best of the best, the highest level of SC2 and the most prestigious SC2 tournament in the world.

They have the best stream quality too.

Only if you pony up some cash. Their free stream is well.....bad.

Free stream is actually pretty decent if you tweak the video settings.

You get used to it the stream is really no different to MLG for me even on LQ

man you need to get your eyes checked. even the HQ is like 480p. the reason i brought it up though is cause of the artifacting. really annoying.

You just need to watch more bad quality streams this is fine

That was sarcastic, even if you pay their stream quality is pretty shit compared to tournaments like ipl or dreamhack

Ok, went over my head, my bad.

For PvP Cloud Kingdom is a very poor map if one player goes Blink and the other Robo, the amount of flexibility the blink players has is just insane. Genius picked the right build for the map and Naniwa didn't, but it was still a meh build order loss game.

If that observer gets sniped, Genius has no flexibility at all and Naniwa has enough units to defend at the front until the next observer comes. I understand how in-game it sees really risky to build an observer in those moments, but with the decreased build time and chrono boost, it could have been a life saver. Naniwa just needed a little more time to stabilize so he could defend both his main and natural fairly efficiently. Blink is obviously great on Cloud Kingdom, but i don't think that was a complete loss from the outset at all. Both players played well, but if you're the FEing player, you have to play even better and Naniwa wasn't quite able to.

It's super risky though, especially when you don't have Blink. If Genius controls his observer well its really hard, if not impossible. Chronoboosting out Inmortals and hoping you have enough inmortals to just overpower the blink stalker army is in that situation I think a 'safer' option.

It's risky, but considering the build time with chrono, imo it would've been worth it. Either way, i would've preferred to see Naniwa go for a safer build on that map, but I'm sure Naniwa accounted for that build in practice, he just failed to execute that defense perfectly.
Ganzi beat me without stim. Ostojiy beat me with a nydus. Siphonn beat me with probes. Revival beat my sentry-immortal all-in.

Wasn't Huk in Code S for most of 2011?? That might be more impressive. Huk was in Code S during the time when Protoss just didn't win at all in GSL.

more importantly huk earned his spot, didn't receive a silly seed.

Not completely true. Didn't he get seeded in code A?
