ASUS ROG Summer 2012, held August 2.-4., announces the first eight invited players and sets dates for the two upcoming online qualifier tournaments.
Last week we announced the next ASUS ROG StarCraft II Tournament is going to be held at ASSEMBLY Summer 2012 at August 2.-4. with 32 players and $ 30 000 prize pool. We also started accepting invite request from players, and have since received a number of contacts from players and organizations. Here are the first eight players that have been granted a slot at the tournament.
AL.Naama is an exception in the group, since he didn’t request an invite but earned his slot by winning Vectorama 2012 LAN tournament at Oulu, Finland earlier this June.
Online qualifiers We have already confirmed that, this time ASUS ROG StarCraft II Tournament is not entirely invite only. Many have been calling for qualifier tournaments, and so now we are organizing two online qualifiers, played on European Battle.net server.
Saturday, July 14. ASUS ROG Summer 2012 Online Qualifier #1 Top 4 qualifies
Sunday, July 15. ASUS ROG Summer 2012 Online Qualifier #2 Top 4 qualifies
Both of the qualifiers will feature competitors that will be selected among the players who have requested an invite for the tournament. If you did not apply yet, you can do so by sending an email to info@peliliiga.fi. The qualifiers will be streamed by The GD Studio and casted by Apollo.

Nice invites and considering this is an asus event nani and sase should also be pretty much confirmed. I also hope they invite some top-tier koreans like parting, bomber, drg, mc

HerO and Taeja are top koreans unless your implying you want more koreans which they're probably will be.

I didn't know this will be 8 man tournament :/ Must have missed something. ..
i may be missing something subtle in your post but anway if you read the post it says the first set of invites announced + another 8 will qualify through online qualifiers and the rest will be announced at a later date
Love the line-up so long. Would still like to see Bigs as he is the only swiss representation noticeable... And there can never be too many Liquid fighters!!!
They only invite the ones who request an invite. So if a player isn't invited, it can be that he didn't request an invite, not that ROG wouldn't want them to play in the tourney.

Apollo will for sure go then I guess they need to find 3 more. Maybe they just get one more and try to get pros to cast if they get knocked out.
I for one love when pro players cast with Apollo.
Since Apollo will be casting from theGDstudio I assume they will grab someone to sit next to him (either in-house or someone from outside depending on availability).

Would be awesome to see Incontrol casting. But I'm not sure he would be interested in traveling so far again so soon after just coming back from Dreamhack. Maybe MrBitter and Rotterdam would be available?
