There are 9 zergs and some are not bad at all ( Kenzy, Minimath, Bsk , Eeel , Moman ) so Stephano , even favourite, can easily lose some zvz here still he is not confident in this match up.
Edit : ToD didnt try because it's the same date as HSC i think.

Adelscott should stay out, but he doesnt Dayshi pretty awesome terran Note that EVERYONE else besides Push and gato (i dont know about those 2) are at least top master or GM.

The only serious possibility would be 2 lucky ZvZ all-ins. Aside from that, nobody is at his level in France right now. If he loses, it'd going to be a shitstorm I can guarantee that.

Adelscott has sick PvZ. He beat Dimaga, Livezerg, violet, Bly, Morrow in the past months. Ofc Stephano is still well favored against him, but I wouldnt count him out.

They played each others in the final of the qualifier that Stephano won. They didn't play for a long time, because Stephano was in USA for several weeks :
Stephano : "Still 1 gate expo 5 sentry push?" Adel : "No ! I change all my build" Stephano : "Really?"
Adel was right, it was in fact a 1 gate expo 6 sentry push ^^, destroyed by Stephano. He knows Adel perfectly, i don't see him lose to Adel, nor any other protoss or terran in this list.

Yeah was expecting to see guys like AureS and Sarens make it to the finals, but the open qualification format (16 qualifiers, with only the winner qualifying) caused quite a few upsets
Yeah the problem with Moman lately is that he's not been focused on SC2... ...But he managed to earn his spot nonetheless, so who knows how well he'll do

Stephano has this for sure. He's the new Elky.
Also, Push is back ?
I think Tuzer dont play anymore, for some reason Sarens didnt try, it seems he is more Eclypsia coach than a player, Aures just didnt manage to qualify despite he is talented, but bo1, many zerg and a lot of upcoming new talented french player was too much for him.

I guess because it's during a big event in France named "japan expo and comicon" with a lot of stuff and they have to keep their stand open during all event and spread some game everyday , but, yes, it's a bad idea =)

Hm not sure but it may have some advantages
- because they can - every player gets his deserved exposure - more audience because you can easier watch this tournament plus others (GSL, TSL, HSC) and pick your favorite games. - more days, more party
I think the main reason is that the WCS France take place in a big convention : The Japan expo which last 4 days. So everyday new visitors will see the WCS even if they don't know what eSport is. So more people will see the stage and discover the competition and so on

Stephano manage to recover is drone count by better macro than Minimath but Minimath is probably one of the worst zerg here, it's not a good news when he will face Bsk/Kenzy/Eeel etc who are far better I think.

He did beat Violet and Nerchio recently, we'll see! I agree he seems on the line a lot in ZvZ, winning very closely.
Is there a schedule for this? How many rounds are being played today? Are they playing the second round today? When are they playing the loser's bracket first round?

Hmm, oddly enough, a few Frenchies has the same question when watching the WCS UK. Turnabout's fair play and all that. Otolia and the rest of the arrogant masses can't call the UK a shitty amateur scene when there are players like this representing france. Dayshi's even supposed to be among the better ones.

If you weren't as narrow minded as you are, you might have asked me why I thought the french amateur scene was a good one. And I would have answered you that there are more infrastructures as well as separate initiative from casters, upcoming teams and tournaments.
Will that pay off immediately ? Maybe, maybe not. Will that pay off in the long term ? Absolutely. As such the french amateur scene is currently superior to the UK, because the scene is not only the players but also the environment they grow in.
As for the quality of games, aside from JonnyREcco, Ziktomini and DeMusliM, none of the englishmen objectively shined through the WCS UK tournament.
PS : The fact that you are still mad about what I said is really sad.

Those players represent nobody but themselves
Lastly, Stephano
Nope, I just called Bsk bad, and Dayshi was playing mediocre. And congrats on Stephano, as he is a professional, I fail to see how it has anything to do with the amateur scene. And yes, they are representing themselves, but they also represent the amateur scene in France, vying for a spot in the WCS for Europe. Those games were hardly decent, and if the WCS UK was snidely dismissed for producing a poor amateur scene, what is this?

I'm do not follow starcraft for a casters "look". I want someone with experience and is actually able to give some professional insight. If i wanted to see a nice looking woman, i'd browse for it. I just quit watching, just because i couldn't stand her blabbing non sense, and quite sometimes she makes snide remarks to co-casters, which even makes her look more bad. This is just my opinion. Hm, her game knowledge isn't any worse than let's say TotalBiscuit's, and between them I'd prefer listening to Zoe any day! Give her some credit, she is really into SC2, just look at her ESV and NASL work, she's also been at most European WSC qualifiers.

I think she is swiss from russian origins. Gschwind-Penski (her last name) seems more Polish (or Prussian) than Russian to me though. And she lives in Berlin.
It was found to see a transitions to carriers on late PvZ, nice victory for Master, but that zerg, really, as Grubby pointed at least ten times, he lost because he was a victim of the one control group syndrome.

As has been mentioned before in this thread, the fact that she is attractive does not take away from her ability to cast games. Im sorry that for you, the only time you want to see a nice looking woman is on the internet when you are alone...
If you actually knew what you were talking about yourself, you would know that Soe has ample experience with e-sports, the fact that she hasnt been commentating much recently, (mostly hosting and presenting like someone also said), does not mean that her professional insight is not valid. Im sure she works very hard to boost her knowledge as much as possible before each tournament, after all, it is her occupation! Remarks to co-casters, who are also personal friends of hers, does not constitue being "snide", infact the opposite, in England, we call it banter, and it is at all times, appropriate!
In conclusion, I am glad you have "quit watching", as hate only breeds more hate, and your point sir... is invalid.
In my opinion, Soe's casting style is perfect for the current situation, she is fun to listen to, provokes insight from her co-casters by asking suitably loaded questions about gameplay, which then allows Grubby or Kaelaris in this case, to take control and talk mechanics if there is a need for a more in-depth perspective. She follows the game well and injects enthusiasm and excitement... need I go on?

She also loves eSport - she's likely just standing in because nobody else was available. Usually, she's doing interviews/hosting, not casting and she's been around for all sorts of other stuff, such as WoW Arenas (IEM, etc.) and works at a German eSport agency.
Sure, her game knowledge is terrible (she can shout "a nice fungal going down" whenever more than 5 roaches are fungaled.. that's a start), but if she receives some constructive feedback and positive comments from this, she might be the first proper female caster we're getting ..and I doubt anyone here doesn't enjoy looking at her.
I'll just wait until HSC starts, for some proper casters.

Did you even read my post? Clearly you haven't or you are too thick to comprehend. She does NOT give professional insight, because she does NOT have proper knowledge of the game. I will not reciprocate on the rest of your arguments, since it was my OPINION and therefor it is not INVALID.
Oh and the thing about her appearance. It was a reponse to the post i quoted. So the first thing you directed at me, is totally utter bullshit, and a great way to start a discussion by making it personal.
Jesus, i'm not sure if i am irritated, or just plain sad because i share the earth with great guys like you. (/banter)
Dayshi has been doing fine, but I still think the the odds of a certain zerg taking this 10-0 are less dependant on Dayshi than on said zerg's showing up in a condition to play.
Wow I must say I loooooooove the french casting here, really up-to-date about technical details ! Fascinating to hear the casters analyzing the precise timing of the cyber core and spawning pool and what it does mean :O

This is the link to ESL TV French cast with Anoss and I don't know the second caster !
So Kleenex beats Eel in Round 2, who then works his way through the Loser's Bracket to eventually get his revenge and knock Kleenex out of the Loser's Bracket and eliminate him from the tournament!

The french stream has been amazing all week and Moman is now on there and he's fkin hilarious
Yeah I'd bet. Feel more sorry for me for the fact that I can't speak French. Missing out on Moman's antics
looooovin the fact that I can understand french ^^
Is Moman one of the guys that cast the IronSquid in French?
Well I know bonjour, "comment tu t'appelle?", je m'appelle, "je suis Kommander, j'habite a Philippines" "merci beacoup! De rien!" and I know how to count 0-10 in French. But that's about it

After seeing Iron Squid, I'm not too surprised. The French are passionate about e-sports.
I heard that the French culture looks down on e-sports though. At least according to the liquipedia article on it, they seem to gather a large crowd every time though.

Some of your fellow countrymen were upset that I judge the french scene superior to the UK one but having a big following composed of different public (from the occasional viewer to the deeply immersed fan) is a part of SC 2 success in France.

Most ppl shit (rightly) on our "intellectuals" and elite opinion, and well, when you're 20ish you don't care about the moaning of some elders :D
Music was Vitalic - second life. Watch the uncensored clip on youtube, it's pretty... sorry, don't have description... weird ? funny ? Something like that.
Also, you can notice Dayshi seems to be way ahead from others players, except stephano who seems to be way ahead dayshi... But, seriously, I'm impressed by Dayshi's macro. He fail at positionning and upgrade, but he seem strong.

Make SC2 more popular in each country? Giving players a chance to win some money with their hobby? God I hate trolls, but have to correct them....fml!
Yes, i don't usually follow the french scene, and i was gladly surprised by the overall level. They may not be top european level yet, but the talent pool impressed me. I only heard about Kleenex because he was for a long time a laughing stock in Mill or aAa chat rooms (lots of french fans are dicks), but he played really well, and he certainly deserves his place on a good team. Dayshi is a very good terran, and Eeel surprised me. Master, Censuré, they also were good. It was an excellent tournament, and the idea of organizing it in the Japan expo was good. Even if i live in Paris, i didn't go there because it is far and i don't like weeaboos. But i'm already a fan of SC2. It is way more important to expose new people to this game and try to make SC more popular among casual players and observers.

Indeed. Haven't been following the French scene at all, but based on the matches vs Stephano and Eeel, Dayshi seems to be pretty decent. Might have been nerves in the Stephano match 1, hopefully he'll be past any possible stage fright for the finals.
Stephano trying too hard to sound like a dick. He's always been a little arrogant, and he certainly can as he's probably the best foreign player, but i have the feeling he's pushing too hard a character now.

What did he say?
I don't understand Zeratul's comment because Stephano sounded very relaxed and genuinely glad he won the tournament. He thanked his fans and was proud of the trophy size...

It cockiness was originally to mask his nervousness when he was younger. But I agree with you, the person seems captive of his own character Stephano which could be due to his huge success and the necessity (real or not) to keep things alright in order to maintain the same state of mind (so important for him).

I don't see it as arrogance, mostly frankness. He didn't say that his opponents suck, but that it is an easy tournament for him, and this is true. If you talk about the smack talk during game, it is mostly for fun...
It doesn't bother me. He's the first one to admit that someone is better than him, and the first to say that he's (much) better than some opponent. What's wrong with that? His achievements are extensive, he's one of the few foreigners that Koreans fear.
can you people stfu about this cockiness from stephano? starcraft is a 1v1 game. Its like saying Muhammad Ali is a douchebag for being confident against his opponent. As long as you can back up what you say,There is nothing wrong with it .. Its good for publicity.
And inb4 douchebags say Mohammed Ali was not disrespectful . This is some of the quotes from the most respected boxer of all time.
-"Frazier is so ugly that he should donate his face to the US Bureau of Wild Life" -"I am the astronaut of boxing. Joe Louis and Dempsey were just jet pilots. I'm in a world of my own." -"I am the greatest, I said that even before I knew I was" -"I'll beat him so bad he'll need a shoehorn to put his hat on"
Thats just a few arrogant cocky quotes from the greatest boxer of all time. I would not change stephanos attitude for anything.
Except according to KleeneX and Adelscott it isn't really his personality. It's more something he did to appear calm on stage, and once he bite he didn't stop. Whether or not it's good for him is irrelevant to what I said.
Sorry if this was asked before, but can anyone explain why Germany and now France were given direct seeds to World Champ? Is this decided on Blizzard whim, or there is some good explanation behind this? Is outhere somewhere any list of countries which receive direct seeds?

Yeah. It's kinda lame for seeds to given past a tier of championship.
if you go through the countries etc here, you can see which ones have a direct seed so far i see france, germany, china, russia. i expect kr will have a few?

Does KR need a direct seed? They will dominate Asian tourney anyway. If Blizzard would provide any reasoning on those seeds I would be willing to understand, if not agree on those depending the reason. But to give countries way to jump over one tier of competition undermines the whole idea behind those championships.

A little bit, considering that Sweden has the highest number of pros in the Europe.
