As a french person who has several friends who studied to become doctors, I can guarantee you that being drunk and partying is apparently the most important thing to know how to properly do in medicine university. Yet our doctors are pretty good and motivated, I don't really understand why or how.

It is just a game guys, he didn't feel like participating and is probably losing some fans and a little bit of credibility in his team. It's not like it is a particularly important tournament or noteworthy in any way. Some people will be pissed at him, but thats something he doesn't care about. I know several ppl who are going to be doctors and have exceptional grades in medical school, and they party like CRAZY and aren't necessarily super organised about everything. If anything doctors are a little bit less organised on average than other people I would say.

It's hilarious that you think him being drunk at a club once or forfeiting games in his e-sport career mean anything to what his civil career gonna be. I'd love you to introduce to some of my med student friends, they are just as any other ~20 year old, most of them being into party/drinking/sex/not-working. Yet they re gonna be doctors, some of them good ones.
