When does the games start?
22:45 is the scheduled time, but I think it will be ongoing just as the DOTA 2 final will be over.

Totally agree, considering the potential that this final day had, the upcoming finals are incredibly disappointing. I never thought I would go to sleep early today rather than watch the finals.

I actually think their play styles are what will make this finals amazing. We get to see how Dimaga responds to the FF + immortal timing attack while Mana has to deal with the ling + bling combo. We are bound to get very unique games because both styles negate the other in their own ways.

The banelings blow up the zealots, and then the scattered stalkers are pretty much doomed when their support is gone. The way to beat would be to hit before the drop research is done, I guess, but banelings should really take up one supply, rather than a half, the entire game imo. The way I see it, having copious amounts of units doing significant splash damage should tie up a bit more of your supply. Maybe there should also be a possibility to feedback overlords, to get rid of a bit of their health when they're flying above your army or into your base, just to reward a player with high apm and tier three units out, aiding him when defending against the approaching assault. I'm not thinking of a change that would negate the drop strategy, but give the protoss player an option as to whether he'd want to deal with the baneling shower or the infestors with his templar. In addition, this would imply that overlords should also have an ability that costs energy and therefore might not have a large impact on the racial balance. Just thinking out loud here. Imho templar tech is neccessary... you also need sentries and it's really really expensive and not as *standard* as robo. Also, if Dimaga suddenly (who would have thought he doesnt do the same stuff every game!! ![]() I'm really interested in the finals!

Not really exploiting game design... its exploiting Stephano's style. Ling infestor smashes the shit out of sentry immortal all in... Sentry immortal just hard counters Stephano's max roach pushes. idd, its something I've been doing vs every z for a while, becasue nearly every z on ladder does the stephano max on roaches build... and it was really nice seeing the counter to that being done so well and at such a high level There is currently no answer as Zerg to a well executed immortal/sentry thats not really true. its stupidly strong but beatable. the 2nd game stephano cancelled his top left hatch when he didnt have enough larvae to produce lings anyway, and he was on 2 gas so he couldnt make roaches. with the extra larvae of lings or with more spine crawlers he couldve held. he was almost at the tipping point anyway. zergs dont focus on creep spread enough either, which is very important vs the immortal allin. and ling infestor or ling bane+drop are build counters to it, they just have other weaknesses. I'm in a state of unbelievable and utter shock right now.

Hahah and all those GSL players just got destroyed by the EU players. What does that tell you?
doesnt change his point tho, if you're assuming suddently foreigners are better than GSL players, why dont they win a GSL..
Because few of them participate in the GSL.... the few "foreigners" who have taken part in that particular league have been fairly successful, having only tried it a couple of times each. If you look at a prestigious competition such as Code S you'll notice that the players there have been trying to get a win for a long time, and before they were aiming for the win they were struggling just to get into the league. If all the players who attended DHS this year went to Korea and played in the GSL month after month after month, a lot of them would do great. Others would not, because in the end, it's not about koreans vs foreigners; it's about players of different calibers.

TL has had a LR feed and recap going for Dreamhack, just have to click on the article on the front page. Not cool. Why should anyone really care? I haven't watched this tournament at all because the level of players is so drastically lower than say the GSL. and yet players like hero, taeja, naniwa and keen couldn't make it anywhere hmm Since when is Ro16 nowhere? I swear, every time Americans whine about Koreans coming in, clogging our tourneys, and taking all of our IPL, NASL, MLG, and rando online tourney money Euros come in with their "LOL, get better" jabs. But Dreamhack has literally 3 Koreans of note, and those 3 Koreans get knocked out by the highest European players (which shouldn't be that surprising, Koreans aren't immortals. They get tagged out by tip-top Americans and Euros all the time), and somehow only Euros in the finals is just Europeans being awesome. Okay, and TL hates you too, that's why there wasn't a GSL Code S level post for every day leading up to the tourney. PROTIP: European elitism is just as bad as American elitism, and it's just as fucking enraging. There's a difference between rooting for your favorite national player (you know, showing patriotism), and acting completely hypocritical and being completely condescending because you live on the right side of the Atlantic Ocean.
