Tell me, sleep-deprived TL... does he deserve to be there?
He solidly beat MKP and Sase. He deserves it.

Not one American played a good tournament this year and Vibe won an tournament with all the best US players, so he should rightfully be the best earning American 2012.

If a new player from America has a lot of skill, he will have good games @ international tournaments like MLG, and then he will have some attention, like for exemple Illusion when he defeated some koreans. A skilled player can find ways to receive recognition The thing is the teams won't get players that don't bring in viewers. If these players don't have teams that can sponsor them they can't compete in many tournaments. But if a player has raw skill and if he trains well (you can not be a contender for GSL without team I know lol, but you can get a decent level just by practising alone, at least that's my opinion), he can place well in some minor tournaments, like Playhem dailies, and if he is consistent, teams will be interested cause he has the potential to improve with good teammates and to bring some results and attention to the team itself For example, when Millenium acquired Stephano, he was not a very-known player, and he started by playing in every GO4SC2 (a tournament in Europe twice a week), and he did very well so then he competed in european tournament and then international tournaments. I think this is a problem specific to NA actually, people seem much more attached to the veterans there. In europe is a little easier to stand out also, you can stand out in a single country first and grow on that. Vibe for example has been here for a decent time and yet most people don't know him. Maybe i'm wrong but in the NA the image many time truphs the skill. You pick Vibe as an example, but even though i'm european, I know him for quite a while cause I sometimes watch NASL, but from what I saw of him, nothing really impressed me, i thought he was a good player but not amazing. I'm not sure the image is so important : yes Incontrol is known but people don't think he's one of the best americans, and IdrA is known, and maybe he's not anymore the best in NA, but there was a time when he was clearly the best in America and was even one of the best foreigner, so the attention he receives is not totally undeserved Many don't know Vibe, he really isn't amazing but in the USA scene, right now, no one is. He is playing better than the EG americans, i think Sheth is the only american better than him right now. People just don't want to let go of their favorite players, and that is understandable, but it won't renew the scene. For exampe during this competition when the less know players beat the "crow-favorites" many stopped whatching the WCS, this way there won't be renovation. If the teams see there is no interest in these players they won't pick them, the new players have to beat Koreans to get real recognition, and they won't have many chances to do so because they don't have teams.

Wow, Tastosis actually look good in suits that aren't weird colors designed for Korean men.
Totally pulling for DRG, not really much of an Alicia fan.

Yeah he's played some really good games. There have been quite a few where it looks like the other player has just made some massive and/or dumb mistake, but Alicia has looked really solid.
