If you compare it population-wise though, we really are pretty bad. its only equivalent to a few countries. besides, you have to take the culture into account ![]() Well, USA has a population of like 312 million, Sweden has 10 million. And you could make very good arguments for them being on par. But then UK has 62 million and only two good players so I can't really talk. Higher population, yes. Also a larger country with events all over it, money being a factor, it is very difficult to break out in America without having a favorable situation. By your logic though, China should have the best players in the world just because they have the largest pop. Not really, not by my logic no. Did you read what I was replying to at all? We weren't talking about culture. One person said by population the US is really bad, and that's all we're talking about. Another responded the US is only equivalent to a few countries, and my point was it's equivalent to 31.2 Swedens, so by population it's really bad. Obviously there is a reason for it... and that reason is culture. this guy is right. i don't see how you guys don't see it. there's a reason why koreans are dominant. its not because of their population. This guy is not right the reason is infrastructure. Pro SC grew up in Korea and so the set up is already there. There is a reason so many Olympic athletes train in the US regardless of country. Though I'm not trying to say we would automatically be better than Koreans if that infrastructure existed but you cannot deny that is the main factor in their dominance.

I use to watch some Ultimate Mortal Kombat 3 tournament matches back in the day... they never did Fatalities when I watched. It was usually some lame uppercut punch or a jab. Probably that NA can be divided up into USA, Canada, and Mexico, whereas Europe has France, Sweden, Germany, Netherlands, and so on and so forth. Easier to divvy up a prize pool into three than like, ten.

Edit : but yeah, that's true guys like Destiny, Incontrol, Desrow, Catz have all popularity without having amazing results, but the majority of people know that they are not the best american players

Yeah it's just a good excuse for Morhaime to go up and mention HotS which he wants a lot of sales of. But then we could never expect MLG to ask the tough questions, they have to kiss blizzards arse a bit.

Why not just make the player coming from the loser bracket having to win 2 bo5s instead? They do have to win 2 Bo5s. The second Bo5 is extended series as it is the second series they have played
