I think this is a problem specific to NA actually, people seem much more attached to the veterans there. In europe is a little easier to stand out also, you can stand out in a single country first and grow on that. Vibe for example has been here for a decent time and yet most people don't know him. Maybe i'm wrong but in the NA the image many time truphs the skill.

Look at the brackets of this tournament and the open bracket too. The new talent is there but people just want to focus on the existing veterans like this is Pro Wrestling. You have someone you've never seen and never heard, here in the grand finals of the USA where guys like IDra and Sheth participated. The WCS has finally let the doors open to good players that couldn't step through the doors because no one would let them in before. Finally, like Korea, the US has something to for unknowns to work for. Don't yawn and turn your eyes at this tournament. Learn about it. Educate yourself. The problem here is WHEN they decide to show this. Everyone is super hyped after seeing Alicia vs MKP and want to see the finals and then we got this. Yea, it is part of the event but it kills hype and you cannot blame people for not being that interested. They should have planned this tourney another time and it would get way more attention and less bashing.

Congrats to both him and Vibe. Not the easiest tournament to place first and second in, despite it only being Americans.

You think that CNBC would invest in something that didn't have the potential to draw a big crowd and big money? Inherent in this statement is the assumption that what draw big crowds and big money is generally accepted by more than just a few people, as you suggest.

It's like the half time show of an NFL game where they let the little 6 year olds who barely know how to run without falling down play. Everybody is like "aww look at them trying, it's so cute!" User was warned for this post
