& here we go.
interesting choice of match-up for a showmatch. gl, nonetheless.
He trash talked NASL every week when he was a participant in season 1. And he did it some more when they had the fan vote that MC won. I really have no idea why NASL would let him take part in any of their events given the amount of bad press he's given them.
Am I so wrong to expect more of that behaviour from a person who is known for doing it?

he whined at NASL because of a flight delay or something?
i dunno, i'm surprised myself. this probably isn't the best showmatch though. pvp?

still rivalry is cool.
nah he complained about NASL throughout season 1. I dont think he made the finals even to have flight problems.

Imagine you can invite 2 S-class players... and you make it a PvP with TDA and Belshir?
Two of the worst maps for (arguably) the least popular matchup. NASL seems to be investing a LOT of money into their production value, these seem like some pretty basic mistakes to me ><.
They make money from entertainment value- maybe I'm alone in my opinion, but this doesn't seem like the best use of airtravel for two + 2k prizes + overhead.
Odd choice for PvP showmatch, and again odd choice to have naniwa come, especially considering all the people saying what a pain in the ass he is to deal with. Hopefully we get some sick games but in the future no more PvP for showmatches please, or ZvZ for that matter.

Most players complain about layovers and other kind of waste of time, then when naniwa does of course he receives a lot of hate for it.. It's like this community always is looking for another oportunity to rip him a new one.
With that said, best of luck Naniwa! We believe <3
A 10 hour layover is pretty annoying because it's not long enough to actually leave the airport and go do substantial things around the area, but it's a HELL of a long time to just sit there waiting around. Of all the things Naniwa has done that people complain about, this seems one of the mildest and lamest things to hold up as some example of him being evil.

it's not their fault. naniwa probably picked genius after he found out he couldn't pick idra.

If he didn't put "THNX NASL" at the end of the tweet, it would have been fine.

man even if you take 2 hours to reach the city it still leaves you with 4 hours in the city considerin you have to be 2 hour early for the flight..
I've got 10 hour waiting time for flights and everytime i went out, Amsterdam and Frankfurt and Singapore for instance!
To each their own. I'd never leave the airport with only a 10 hour layover, not to mention all the various stuff you have with you due to traveling.
Anyone who knows Naniwa understands how dramatic and difficult he is. The chance that he's not exaggerating is extremely low. And to each their own? Unless you're a slug ten hours is way more time than you'd ever need to go out.

Can someone describe the games for me were they good, bad etc? Sad to see Naniwa going down like this but it sounds like Genius is playing better than he did during gsl & dreamhack.

I only caught the last game but it was pretty good. Genius got really ahead by using blink to jump in Naniwa's base and do some damage. Then he used the threat of blink to keep Naniwa from moving his army out to protect his natural, and so he couldn't expand. Naniwa got a pretty big army on his one base and then attacked, and Genius tried to defend but Naniwa had good forcefields (and broke down Genius' forcefields with his Colossus) and managed to cut off Genius and go into his base. Genius pulled his probes and attacked and it was really close, with about 3 stalkers and an Immortal left for Genius at the end of the engagement. Naniwa was mined out in his main and only base while Genius transferred probes to his natural and so Naniwa decided to surrender.

Ty, sounds like at least that game had good play from both but Genius was clearly one step ahead.
Dude Naniwa has always had some really good decision makingin PvP... about expanding or taking advantage of the other players build... but I guess he just got out smarted ... eh?

The twitch vods are really glitching out, I'll check them again later, or maybe when they go up on youtube. Naniwa wasn't confident going into the match, I guess with good reason
One thing, despite how he may come across Naniwa doesn't see himself as an ass, Introducing him as king of the trolls and asking him if he's trolling after answering questions seems a little harsh to your guest.
Woohoo go Genius! Really glad he was able to take this so convincingly. Was just thinking about him and wondering how he will perform in GSTL this season.
