If it wasn't for the Swedish protosses lucifron could all kill but sase is way too strong at PvT and naniwa is very good at it as well to be taken down together especially considering that quantic are probably focusing on him, on the other hand vortix could pull off the snipes given their struggles with PvZ but quantic could just send illusion to take out vortix and then karont3 would be in trouble. Or perhaps this will be Spain's chance to show a new big player from the other 3 who knows but quantic's a definite safe bet.

It is also important to keep in mind that AlaStOr is a very good zerg player. He is currently #11 on the EU ladder; I'm sure he's capable of defeating several of the players in the Quantic roster.

Karont3 is surprisingly strong, MikOeL was also a good BW player, so he can't be underestimated. I think though, this'll come down to LucifroN and whether or not Quantic has SaSe and NaNiwa ready.
Karont3 has remained a big mistery to me until know. Apart from LuciroN and VortiX, I've basically seen nobody of their players play. Hopefully this will be an interesting matchup.

So that's 4 of the 5 accounted for, does anyone know anything on lolvsxd?

Can't exactly remember details, but the only game I saw him play so far (IPL Qualifier #2 broadcast vs GoSuKingdom), he played absolutely terrible, I can recall that much.
With an All-Kill format, Lucifron will be very dominant. I feel that Naniwa and Sase are the only ones in the Quantic lineup who have a realistic chance of taking him down. Should be very interesting to see both Lucifron and, maybe even more so, his brother Vortix play in this type of competition.
If Quantic doesnt field Sase and Naniwa, they don't have a top quality roster either. If Karont3 get 1 lucky win from their bottom 3, 1-2 from vortix, 2-3 from lucifron, would be enough.
Quantic is still the favourite ofc, especially with their swedes. Hoping for an exciting match.

I'd say guys like Illusion and State (beat Gumiho, TSLShine, TSLHyun and Select last TAC) definitely have the ability to beat Lucifron as well. Karont3 simply lacks the depth compared to Quantic I feel, and that really hurts.
Dream Team Gaming vs Alternate Type is Thursday's match. aTn Type was added to the tournament the latest due to oGs disbanding, so they were given more time to schedule and complete their games. =)

Technically, he can. And there's a smal chance of it happening.
I don't think he can beat Nani and Sase. His TvP is relatively unproven thus far, and he just got crushed by Finale.
If you look at it this way, everything about him is relatively unproven, he has played like four tournaments since he started playing events again. He won two and lost in two in the first round - coincidentally to Protoss - but it isn't like we have huge sample sizes in any matchup to make statements who he can or cannot beat.
Thus, I'm taking an open-minded approach and believe that he can beat anyone, especially in a BO1 and cross-server.
That doesn't mean he will - he probably won't all-kill Quantic. But if he gets a lot of help from the rest of the team, an upset isn't impossible.

I don't think anyone argues that Karont3 is the favourite because they have Lucifron. Of course they are the underdog.
But they have great players like LolvsxD. :D And sometimes it's just fun to root for the team that's not favoured.
Edit: Hm, that went about as well as I expected it to. VortiX basically needs to win at least a map or two in order to make it somewhat possible for Karont3 to advance.
LolvsxD could have reacted faster to the cloak I feel, but I guess as a spectator it's easy to point out player mistakes. Still, he did so much damage with the bust, if only he had just a few more spores...

Losing to finale isnt something to be ashamed of. He's one of the most underrated Korean tosses, like Tear, Avenge. But I agree that LucifroN is going to need serious stuff to beaT Quantic.
As much as I like Lucifron and his bros, I kinda really want to see that Startale vs. Quantic match - so long as NaNi and SaSe play against their GSL teammates. I think that could be pretty amusing.
Out of curiosity, how did Lucifron become hyped to be one of the best foreign Terrans in the game? Just from The Gathering? I haven't seen him play in far too many major things, so I'm just wondering how good he supposedly is.

That, and then he 4-0'd Thorzain in some tournament.

Lucifron doesn't play fulltime, in fact he doesn't even play that much, he ocasionally returns to the scene when he doesn't have to much to do in university. but he has so good mechanics that he can still manage to beat top EU players after not playing the game for three months. although he's a bit overhyped, I'd rate him on the same level as Strelok/Kas.

He often impressed when he showed up at a tournament. Not just lately. Lately he won The Gathering and the Scan Invitational (without losing a map, 3-0 Dimaga, 4-0 Thorzain).

Hmm, I kind of want to say "Not Bad" in the Rotti voice.
Though I still would hold off on the hype till he participates in more major tournaments. It's nice to see more foreign Terrans at the top level. There seem to be a fair few more really top level zergs and toss around.

Its like the definition of "hype" that he has not big results yet. It wouldnt be hype if we hold it off until bigger. All that hype criticism is getting really annoying. Can't we get excited about a promising player?
On another note: Gratz to Quantic. Great showing by Hawk.

There's a bit of a difference between hyping up a player as good, when compared to hyping up a player to be one of the best players of his race before seeing a lot of results. I dunno, that's probably why it's criticized so much, there's too much of a jump.
hanks for showing up Karont3 oh wait you didn't hmmmm can't see them making it out of the first round losers bracket especially if they play like that. hawk is good but he's not that good to were its "oh we lost to hawk ok well we'll get um next time" lol

If VortiX turns up in form (as well as Luci obviously) they'll make a far stronger showing... They seemed really off and shaken today
