Were going to be streaming from a far superior PC now. Previously we were streaming from my horrible laptop, but fear not! Gained level: production value 13

Keep up the good work ^.^

Would you like a separate report from me, or would PAYBACKSXE's report suffice for our match?

On April 19 2012 05:58 Kiastu wrote: Would you like a separate report from me, or would PAYBACKSXE's report suffice for our match? It's best for us to have a match report from both teams, but the losing team doesn't need to send the replays. Please refer to rule 3 to know how to fill your match report.

Hey guys !
I came to check out if my intentions from the hopes I had when I first made the suggestion for this league.
1) Do you have a better feeling of a community in the game? 2) Does this motivate you to play more or practise more?

ATTENTION TO ALL TEAMS
Alright, we've talked to most teams and between each other in management and we've come to the conclusion that the best match format is the lineup submitting system, as opposed to the "winner picks first" system that was being tested throughout this first week. While we understand that picking the player according to the map/matchup can be an interesting element to the match, the benefit of having a more streamlined and less time-consuming approach to the match format outweighs that aspect of player-picking.
So, from Thursday onward, the matches will be played in the lineup format. This means that what will basically happen is that every team submits each Sunday to our e-mail (choboteamleague@gmail.com) their player lineup for the following week's match, together with their current week's match report and match replays (if they won). On the next day (Monday) we will post the lineups in this thread, and opposing players can organize between them, so they can play their set, report to the captain the result and send their replay to their captain. This will make the process of playing team matches more streamlined and easy, since there's a lot less people involved in choosing a time and player to play each set.
Small FAQ:
Q: How is the course of the week happen with this change?
A: The match week starts on Monday with our release of the lineups and the team matches. Every player will know then exactly who they're playing, since they will be assigned to a specific set. The matches will all be played until Sunday, and the captain of each team will send us the match report, the match replays (if they won), and their lineup for next week's match. We then reunite all lineups and release them on Monday, where the cycle begins again.
Q: How do I know which team we're gonna play each week?
A: We're releasing our Challonge website so that every team gets to know right now who they are playing each week of the group stage.
Q: What if a player in a lineup can't play after all?
A: If a player doesn't show up in their agreed time to play the set, they can be replaced by the team's backup player for his rank. This gives a team a total of 3 replacements they can have, and they can only happen if a lineup player doesn't show up.
Q: How will the teams organize the remainder of the sets left to play for this week's matches?
A: We're giving you guys leverage to organize yourselves as you see fit for the rest of the week, as long as you state clearly which set is which when you're reporting your team's match.
-----
We've edited the OP to include our Challonge website in the General Info section. We also remade rules 1 and 2, so we would advise everyone to read at least those rules again.
If you have any questions, please ask here in the thread. Thanks.

Yes to both. The common complaint about SC2 feeling lonely doesn't seem to be an issue anymore, and I have been practicing twice as much as I used to.

Because sometimes he has to play... and win! Congrats buddy! Galaxy hwaiiiiitiiiing!

^^ ty, Glint. Hopefully that will be a regularly scheduled event.
On the note of streaming, I will be gone tomorrow through Saturday, so there will be no live events then. However, I'm going to have the stream ready to go as soon as I get back to cast as many of the week's games as I can most of the day Sunday.
Any replays or ace sets you would like me to cast, shoot me at rmasongray@yahoo.com and we will cast live as much of Sunday as possible.
Cheers! HaZardous47

Incoming WoT:
I definitely do. I made a thread on reddit and joined a forum for a team named emanations trying desperately to find someone to meet and play starcraft matches with. My attempts were futile, with no one tuning into my stream that I posted about on reddit, and my introduction post and attempts to talk in the emanations team chat unanswered/ignored. The payback team has been pretty awesome, especially since they were already a small group of buddies who met in other games presumably, but moved on to SC2 together. I personally feel like I can call sxe, chasian, smj, and fire very good SC2 buddies now, and am getting to know the rest of the team on that same level. With these team leagues, I want to watch my buddies win...I get more into these matches than I would an MLG final between MKP and DRG, because these are my close SC2 buddies going at it, and I want desperately to see them succeed. Coming from a guy who watche(d)s about 20-40 hours of SC2 a week and browses the SC2 reddit and TL forums whenever possible, that's a pretty big feat.
As the "watche(d)s" indicates, I actually find myself wanting to watch professional starcraft 2 matches less, and would rather: watch Day9's dailies that are specific to my race, ladder, or play some practice matches against my brohans. As a result of this, I am now a top 8 gold with a platinum MMR, and should be getting promoted soon. I played a total of about 30 matches last season, and I'm already approaching that number this season because of this league. That being said, after this season, I would like to either move on with payback and form a higher division league, or would like to somehow give back to the CTL next season. This league has been so hugely helpful to get me more involved with this "awesome community." I knew the SC2 community was awesome like everyone had always said, but I just found it so hard to actually *break into* the community. In my opinion, I didn't have a high enough SC2 knowledge to post on TL or SC2 Reddit. Again, because of this league, I've come out of my shell and now feel a lot more comfortable on both.
So I really wanna thank you guys for organizing this. It's helped really develop my love for starcraft and its community.
TL;DR: 1: Immensely. 2: I play more than I watch now, and I'm about to hit plat as a result.

Congratulations to the organizers, and to the guys making the effort of streaming.... really good work! You have my respect. I just learned of a minor setback against Galaxy, but Im sure we'll get on our feet soon... BM fighting!

How are people getting along in the matches thus far? Any problems getting people to play or is everyone getting them done in good time?

Payback and King's Men are done, Kessel and Evo last I heard have finished Gold Match. My team and Galaxy are on the Gold Match. I haven't really heard from GNR and TKP
|
GNR and TKP as far as I know have finished 2 matches on Tuesday and possibly more since then.
But it sounds like people are showing up and getting them done fairly early which is a good sign for the league. From my experience in organizing anything online, the hardest part is getting people to show up since they can just forget about it with no consequences. I think the organizers have done a great job with this league and I really appreciate the hard work they've put in.
Anyhow, good luck to everyone and have fun.
