MKP and MMA played greedy and died to 2 base play. aLive is pretty good against protoss and his scouting all of squirtle's builds
I think aLive has learnt from MMA and MKP's mistake. They were playing greedy and blind as is pretty much stadard in current PvT meta game. But aLive is keeping right on top of scouting so he has a much better idea of what's going on.
I dont know about the greedy part but Alive doesnt scout either.
aLive scouted the proxy stargate and saw the 7gate early enough to build 4 bunkers. MMA was standing 20 ft from his base when he saw 3 colossus and died

Exactly this. What a disappointing final matchup.
It´s funny though all of the high level terrans could not cope with that? IMHO you are giving him not enough credit. He is obviously very tired now. aLive could just watch and he relaxed while he saw everything Squirtle did.

It's also TvP anways. :/
I've seen some amazing TvP games this weekend, but this series is pretty bleh atm.

HerO for Dreamhack and PuMa for NASL.
Damn, I'm a huge noob, I watched both of those Still, great for Fnatic! I'll take my step back now.

Double elimination is extremely standard?
Yeah, but I think what he's getting at is that the fairness of giving the WB winner an advantage should be reconsidered because it makes for a poor finals. Having both players start off fresh and having only one bo5 would make for a better final than two bo5, even though it is less 'fair'.
Totally agreed. Just one BoX series would make a far better finals. I agree that this system is "fairer", but IMO a grand finals shouldn't be subject to these things, it should be on equal grounds. Clean slate for GF.
Agree. I understand the logic behind the double elimination, it just doesn't make the final as exciting. Every game should matter in the final.

well does inserting the word "foreign" make you feel any better? you do realize fnatic has a full korean roster right?

It's a lot less fair and I don't think that it's worth making that kind of sacrifice for a more even final. This is a crux of double elimination, but you can't just give everyone a shot at double elimination except for the player who performed the best in the tournament.
If you don't want the double Bo5 finals then I'm fine with single elimination tournaments but I absolutely do not agree with removing double elimination at the last minute just to force a closer final.
the advantage is that you played a dozen less games and makes the finals more interesting.
That's bullshit frankly.
Imagine for a moment that Nestea had been the one to advance from the lower backet and goes on to defeat alive in the first set of the finals 3-2.
That would make their total championship bracket record tied at 5-5 but Nestea wins because he won the series that mattered?
If you're going to do double elimination you do double elimination. That's how rules work.

The disadvantage is that it's not fucking fair to the winner's bracket finalist who only gets to drop one series while everyone else in the tournament gets to drop two. That's a pretty big fucking disadvantage.
If it wasn't double elimination, Alive would have potentially won already.

He is probably running out of gas and had to play pretty quickly after the Nestea series.
I don't think you can use that as an excuse. Squirtle had practiced aggressively for both the GSTL finals and this tournament. In other words, he clearly has the endurance to play two sets. Especially, when Korean pros play 8-10 hours on average.
Side note: If this was a foreigner vs a korean (squirtle) in the finals and he was down 0-2 the excuse would be that he's "jetlagged" lmao.
