The best thing Prime could do is try to offer to share the prizemoney 50/50 with Startale if they win. I mean its not Primes fault how the refs decided it but its really dicey if they do nothing.

It's already awkward for him, you can see it when they show him on cam. Really hope it doesn't tilt him for IPL.

Also, for people paying attention, LAN isn't the solution, loading games from replays is. It solves all the connectivity and hardware problems.

Man getting a free win in a game you lost must be soooooo haaaaaaaarrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrddddddddddddddd

Why?

People are really mad about the whole Parting/Marineking/Disconnect thing

Idk.. I just accept that there's nothing you can do about it. It's disappointing for sure and I can't even imagine how Startale feels about it, but I'm just going to try and make the most of the viewing experience

Well, it´s good if you can just accept that. But some people have some feelings and actually enjoyed this really great event. There was so much positive energy coming from everwhere. Now all is gone to hell.

...what the hell do you think? Prime probably lost half of their supporters after the 4th game, me included.

Yeah, because this is clearly their fault.

So what? Even if it's not his fault, the fact is that he should already have lost, every game MKP wins feels like cheating, it's like this series can never become real again until someone defeats him... again.

yes it would have. it was an internet issue, LAN doesnt use the internet.

didnt blizzard twitter to say that is has nothing to do with LAN?

link? even if they did say that i call BS

you dont know what happened. so how can you call BS?

How many games in BW got dropped in the history of BW?

1. And that was due to a power outage which was caused by a heater.

Even if bnet was 99.9% stable, it means that you'll have a 10% chance of it happening at least once. Even if it was 99.999% stable, the more games you pile up, you'll have dropped games. Probability wise you won't dodge the bullet forever. You'll have dropped games, and every time, it'll be like this.

are we talking about what happened today? or do you want to just talk about hypothetical situations in the future?

I'm saying that the excuse is bullshit. There was one dropped game in BW and that was literally due to a power outage. Yes, there were regames that were given thanks to hardware issues but because of connectivity? never.

If you lose connection to your network, it doesn't matter if its LAN or over bnet.

I dont think I have ever ever seen a LAN failure since playing my first LAN game in 1998. yea from a crappy pc bang in the countryside to international worldwide events

I don't know what to tell you but on massive networks, it can happen all the time. Depends entirely how IPL set up their network.

So because it only happened once in BW there was no way it could have happened here?

You have no way of know what happened there is no reason to take your opinion over that of a tech guy on the scene

Your second point is a very fair point. At the same time, I think a probability of a connectivity issue thanks to b.net is far more likely than the excuse that they gave. That is all I'm saying.

i have no idea what you are even talking about. some guy said it was an internet issue. i pointed out that they said it was not an internet issue. so, wtf are you talking about? if it was not an internet issue then it was not an internet issue.

I'm saying it's very very likely an internet issue that they're covering up for PR, because chances of a random hardware failure in the middle of the match is far more slim than b.net finally dropping a game.

Either way, tournaments really do need to deal with this better, especially with transferring advantages over to the player in the lead when the drop happens. It's far better than a 'regame' that'll mess up people's mentality.

LAN may not have a done anything, but a way to resume a game would have. (Presumably from a shared-replay...)

Maybe not insignificant but I feel a bit cheated. I really wish there was a way to continue a game from where you disconnected, it doesn't really matter if Parting was awarded the win or not.

"Cheated" perfectly describes how I feel as well. I was rooting for Prime, but I'd rather see them lose than win like this...

Please elaborate on how exactly this was Prime's fault.

THE best decision regarding the whole MKP lagging fiasco was for a Bo3 between MKP and PartinG. I am fucking sure the crowd wouldn't mind seeing two more PvT games from these two great players.

There, issue solved.
