It is a somewhat strong build because Dual Sight is a map with small rush distance + multiple attack angles which makes it easy for hellion harass. But outside of Dual Sight, I don't think it would have worked anywhere else.

also its not only that tanks kick ass vs toss imo but that mixing in blue flame hellions wich are great vs chargelots because toss doesnt have to practise splitting vs marine/marauder. Its not that mech has to be viable vs toss just like only gateway units in lategame isnt enough for toss vs terran. But I do believe that mixing in an healthy mix of mech units with the main army. Could defenatly work. TvP still hass alot of unit mixes to explore.

It's not a bad strategy, but it sure doesn't prove that "mech is viable in TvP". Everyone knows mech 2 base all-ins are tough as hell for protosses to stop.

the build sound used is used a lot by gorapadong (who I believe "made" the build, as I cannot find any pro replays of that build being used any earlier than he)
there's some variations on it and it's pretty flexible and safe, and you can transition out of it at the beginning before you start making tanks, and even if you make tanks im sure there's some way to transition back into bio (not sure though, but been seeing some TvPers get some tanks early game then phase them out)

MKP did a faster, less committed version (allowing him to make a third and tech up to be able to be prepared against any protoss compositions) with 2 reactor factories instead of 3
MKP's also seen to have used it on ladder, beating even MC with it
