MKP had to play different people, and these kinda things always affect people differently. Not taking anything away from MKP or making excuses for DRG, just something to think about

Well, I'm sure he will come back in CodeA and step up his game a lot. Graz to Taeja.

There's a bunch of people who can take him out actually. Parting got close at mlg and conceded a build order loss in the last game, Genius beat him last season. Also never ever underestimate NesTea and MC.

Also never ever underestimate NesTea and MC. any1 can lose at any point in code s, if he doesn't play his very best. The competition is so stacked, anyone in the Ro16 has a shot to win the whole tournament, all the favorites have to be 100% focused in every set they play, or they might just follow DRG into code A. So it is pretty senseless to name a couple of players who can actually beat MKP, because everyone there has the ability to, if he makes mistakes. Parting beat him @ MLG once, because he made the mistake of not checking for the fourth base, when he won those midgame engagements. Might happen again in another matchup against another player. BUT Marineking is in a position, where he wins every game, if he doesn't make those mistakes, because he has the superior mechanics to nearly everyone (I would say only DRG might be with him at the top) right now, even Parting, MC or Nestea. So he has to be the favorite to take it all. But he will only do so, if he plays his best all the time.

I don't use Liqiubet, but thought STC would make it out. STC/DRG would have been my pick. Honestly, I think Jjakji is somewhat overrated and that STC is a better player overall. DRG was certainly a surprise, I bet that messed a lot of people up.

We have to stop making excuses for players when they under-perform as if those circumstances are outside of their control. DRG went to Winter Arena so he should know how badly he is affected by jetlag.

I have no idea who is going to carry the Zerg banner anymore now! ![]() I guess we'll have to rely on July, oddly enough. July has been looking better than Leenock lately and who knows where NesTea stands. Wouldn't be surprised if July made another semifinal run this season with the way he's been playing but the zerg hope is all but gone for a championship title this season.

Problem is only two people have a chance at actually surprising people. Everyone else you can come up with a logical reasoning for them winning it, Jjakji just literally came out of nowhere. The old system allowed that. November was the first tournament with the new system so Code S still had random people in it.
