I think he has BETTER infestor control/BL/late game army control than ANY zerg right now, including DRG. And he shuts down drops fairly easily plus likes to play safe with spines. Any Code S terran can take stephano in macro games, including Polt. One perfect example would be alive, who is undefeated against stephano, and all the games weren't even close. I would say overall I agree with you, but Stephano has more than shown that he can stand toe to toe with Polt. I wouldn't so easily write him off. Yes, he did lose, but he lost in a pretty great series. Yeah Polt and Stephano are pretty evenly matched, but I really don't think Polt vZ is that good for the standard of Code S. His TvZ actually ranks 18th in Korean TLPD, not really spectacular. I agree that there are stronger terrans vs Z but i can't name 18 better ones then Polt right now, TLPD is great but it only says overall points not the current play. Polt's TvZ is his weak point, but he has vastly improved from where he was a while ago. He faced Leenock in Code S not too long ago and was able to go 1-1 against him, beat Nestea in the Blizzard Cup, etc. MMA, MVP (when he has wrists) and MKP are way better vZ, but Polt's pretty damn good at it. I wouldn't mind seeing Alive vs. Stephano. That could be a good gauge of how good Stephano is and how good Polt's vZ is. Polt is shaky vs. Stephano in macro games because he never prepares for brood lords and refuses to use ghosts. Ghosts? Really? No top terran has used ghosts against BL/infestor since the nerf, because they're horrible. The only time I've seen them post patch is Morrow using them specifically for nukes. With no ghosts, Terran is NEVER prepared for blords. The only solution is vikings, but it is not a real solution because they get fungaled and killed off by corruptors easily. The only reason Polt won that first match is because Stephano only made 4 broodlords for whatever reason. If he had the typical 8+ number, Polt's surround move would've never worked. If only there was a Terran unit that could easily kill or neutralize the infestors so the vikings could kill the broodlords without getting fungaled! 1. Broodlord outrange ghost's spell (not quite, but almost) 2. Most zergs are not stupid to move infestors in front of broodlord to get emp. 3. Ghost can't freely cloak and snipe/emp infestors anymore because overseers take like 8 snipes to kill now.
I agree that having some ghosts and hope to get couple lucky emps is still better than nothing, but don't make it like ghost is the absolute counter to infestor/bl, because they don't.

Has it been explained somewhere how coL.Killer got seeded into Round 5 of the Open Bracket? Did they just have to fill the spot and he got lucky?

He and Gumiho came in 9th in the Korean qualifier missing the Winter Arena event by 1 spot so he probably got MLG points or something from that and Gumiho isn't going to Killer had enough points to replace people who didnt show up that were at winter arena

I'm pretty sure they did it based on the Winter Arena qualifiers which Killer was 1 round away from getting top 8 in.

Have terrans been so caught up with the snipe nerf they forgot about emp?

Ok, I guess this makes sense. Looking at those open brackets again, I assume Ostojiy was in a similar situation.
Almost all of those Round 5 games look good. Can't wait. Too bad MorroW got knocked into Losers though.

If naniwa were to cannon rush Ret people would bash him immediately but since it's HuK, people call it a smart play.

It's not HuK hate, just pointing out that if it were naniwa, there would be pages of hate

yay go Jinro, happy to see he's breezed along so far!
I really hope Jinro vs Idra gets cast, our two foreigner hopes from way way back doing battle is a cool little trip down memory lane. Idra will probably be the favourite but they could be some decent games =)

You'll drown in the love and be overcome with bliss. Perfection, you'll learn, is Naniwa.

You can defend HuK all you want by hanging the subject. That's how I know I won the argument, you tried hanging the subject.

Also BanjoOOooOoOOOooOooOoOoOoOooo I actually think it will be on the main stage. while Jinro and Idra aren't the top level they once were, I think there is just so much history there that it would be a great way to kick off the day.
