Dont listen to them TB. Stick at it.
The commentary tonight was great.

Uh, Oh, the more I follow the LRs lately the more I get a feeling that the sc2 community is becoming mainstream including all the bad habits to it ... Like flaming commentators from the arm chair general position and insulting others left and right. If I just look at different streams or fanclubs which are meant for the fans of those players where people get shitstorms off onto them. Reminds me alot of the CS "community" or bnet dota public games. Sad to see actually since I had a nice experience the past couple years on TL.net.

I don't mind TBs play by play casting at all, just a bit hard to listen to someone worse at the game than me trying to analyse it, when I'm still awful (Plat).

I used to be a big mvp fan, but given current game balance mvp will only beat inferior players that make mistakes. Even mvp can not make up for the major problems terrans have late game. I wonder what he thinks when he scans to find late game zerg army full of infestor/corruptor/brood lords. He probably still instinctively thinks make ghosts, but then realizes you make tons of vikings and hope they dont get hit with fungals.

Or maybe the game is closer to balanced now, so that players of similar or better skill can beat mvp (more regularly) : )

There are very few that are of similar or better skill than Mvp, even in his slump.
Anyways, reading through this thread is like wading waste deep in shit with all the caster bashing and balance whining. When/where can I was the Idra-MC games, as they apparantly were already played?

No offense but, why would u watch them? MC was like on another class. Nothing entertaining (well, maybe some if you're a MC fan) and not much to learn from. Vods are up von http://www.youtube.com/ironsquidgaming

I also don't see how ThorZaIN is "slumping" just because he's not putting up a huge tournament win recently, it's more a matter of ThorZaINs play not progressing enough compared to other players. MC played really terrible that game after a decent start, Thorzain did nothing special at all even making +3 on useless vikings (a very expensive upgrade) and Thorzain is slumping he is barely winning a series at the moment he even lost to Incontrol at HSC when that would have never have happened in 2011. Thorzain is definitely slumping... Out of his last 10 BO3-5 he played before today. He lost three times, to hero, symbol and MVP. Beating crank, alicia, zenio, kas,tlo, happy and chance. Yeah thorzain is surely slumping. Big surprise, criticism with no evidence to back it up. That's new. Wanna explain how Thorzain isn't slumping compared to his 2011 performance? Ok since you actually responded to my comment I will be more civil. His best performance was winning the teamliquid starleague. That was his only major result. People hype him up alot and i agree that he has potential, but i don't think it's fair to call slumping when comparing his results now to that in 2011. I beg to differ. Wins wise you are correct but that does not take into account his Top 4 placements which have included Battle.net Invitational, Dreamhack Valencia, NASL Season 2 not to mention the All-Kill of Quantic-IM in IPL TAC. He has been doing less well this year tbh. In the nasl he beat demuslim who wasn't nearly as good back then and morrow, who also like thorzain is a good foreigner with potential but without much results. In valencia he beat huk who was basically living on plain then, and hero who got there last second because he replaced someone. In the battle.net invitational he beat white-ra. Who also has not had any good results in quite a while, and socke for him it's the same. I don't like using IPL as an example because those games are casted at a later date. You don't know how much later, and you don't know if those games where played in rapid succession,. No foreigner not really won a tournament where there is more then 2 koreans, so talking about people - especially those in korea to not have big results when the season has barely started for 2012 is really off. With what we have, we can say thorzain is quite good, team games and overall his gameplay look stellar. Same with morrow, beating zenio and leenock is a feat in itself. Stephano. Huk, IdrA, (Naniwa)ish, Ret (redbull LAN)
You include the Redbull LAN when it suits I see. Thorzain lost 2-0 vs Naniwa. He also lost both series at MLG winter arena and went 0-3 in his group at Home Story Cup. He is still a great player, dont get me wrong, but he doesnt seem to playing at the same level he was last year.

I don't believe that someone who plainly sucks in a game can be a good commentator in some aspects, but TB has seen so much games that basically just through that he gained a lot of experience. It doesn't matter if he can pull of pro strategies or that he is in silver because he probably cannot play mechanically clean, but he has seen so many games that he can comment on some stuff.
He probably can't go into an in-depth analysis like an actual pro-player could go, but to be honest - which commentator can? Some could and do, but those that come to mind actually play a good amount and sometimes are just pros themselves.
TB is doing a great job, I really like his casting style. Some guys should really chill out a bit T_T;

Why do casters still say idra never cheese or exploit people???
Idra gets so so much flack every time he 6pools to mix up his game, and people say he's on tilt.

I agree with you for the most part, but just would be nice if he played the game more, I think it would make his casting better. On a more positive note though, really enjoying Apollo's casting these days.

He doesn't "mix it up". When he cheeses like that he does it without any intention to actually win. See the recent showmatch (was it Golden or aLive? I can't remember) where he 6pooled twice in frustration which really had no chance of actually winning him the game.

Naama! People are always forgeting him, but he won Dreamhack 2010 over TOP and Inca at a time where Inca was Code S and TOP was about to win Code A.
