I feel like this must be a troll. Winning with a one base warp prism all in in PvP will never be outplaying anyone. Did MC outplay White Ra when he built gateways in the fog and won Dreamhack?

I know PvP is usually a coinflip but that one certainly wasn't. White-Ra's BO was better in that situation but MC had close position 4gate and it came down to White-Ra out-microing MC. But yeah, that doesn't have much to say about a PvZ

Well he didn't coinflip allin, and this was when MC was the best player in the world by a pretty clear margin. I mean I agree that BO9 is going to be significantly harder for the underdog, but it wouldn't be the first time White-Ra has surprised people before. This being said, I don't think he will win, I just would not be surprised at all if it was a hell of a lot closer than people are expecting.

Personally I'm hoping White-Ra pulls out a miracle -- he's such a cool guy. And as someone closer to WhiteRa'ss age myself, I like seeing that you don't have to retire from Starcraft at such a ridiculously young age.

That's fine because everyone does those kind of massive risky builds in PvP it's part of the matchup, but don't pretend it's some super skill based build. You should also remember that old warp prisms were made of glass so there was a huge chance his warp prism gets shot down and he auto loses. White Ra took a huge risk, he won a best of one. The end.

No offense, but for a "top level" showmatch get DRG and MC or Genius or whatever, so you get your every GSL day high level play. But White-Ra? That's a game of chance. He either demolishes or gets demolished. He CAN beat everybody I'm quite sure of that, just not consitantely. So he makes for a MUCH MUCH more entertaining contender for a showmatch if you ask my humble opinion. In fact there is NO ONE I enjoy watching more then him. Plus, I don't like probe rushes

He didn't 4-gate, MC did. MC pushed up his ramp with superior forces and White-Ra would have lost if he hadn't played the situation better. Even though White-Ra went 3-gate robo MC got up the ramp and focused the immortals, making them irrelevant. White-Ra's prism was sniped as well. I certainly don't think White-Ra is the better player overall, but I do think that he outplayed MC fair and square.

He didn't use it to allin, though, he used it to harass MC's probe line while MC was allining HIM. It wasn't a coinflip, he knew that MC wasn't doing the most aggressive 4gate, because he saw MC's third pylon go down, and with most aggressive 4gate the 3rd pylon is a forward pylon. based on that he knew he had time to get out a warp prism, and by the time MC got to his base he had a sentry out, and he even botched the forcefield, and still microed well enough to win in his base, WHILE doing damage to MC's economy. his opening was not a coinflip, and he did not do a warp prism assited 4gate allin.
