Many people are missing the point - it is true that there was NO Code A spot on the line in the Byun and Coca incident. However, the weekly in the past had given Code A spots. So, it is possible that the players may think that there was a Code A spot. If you take intentions into account, then all players in the future can just say, "oh, i didn't know such-and-such was happening".

Regardless, whether there was a Code A spot (or not), asking your opponent to intentionally lose a game is not acceptable.

Wasn't there no code A spot in weeklies at all??? Only if they won the weekly and then got into the finals, would they enter a competition that gave out code A spots.

But anyways, good to see byun do well. MKP recently said hes the best player in prime so i hope to see him back to form in the GSL soon enough.

The ESV Korean Weeklies never rewarded a Code A spot.

Only one Code A spot was ever awarded through a Monthly Finals to StarTaleSquirtle

Sorry but please find me evidence of that, iirc there had never been a code A spot awarded from that weekly.

Glad you asked. This was investigated too - if you go dig in the original thread that I linked before. Both coaches said they were informed about the tournament not offering Code A spot, and the players knew it too.

There was really no malicious intent, no motive, and what was done was in the spur of the moment, silly as it was.

It doesn't matter whether the spot awarded a Code A or not. If you use that as a defence, then players can claim in the future they were just "messing around" and "didn't know that tournaments offered a spot". Asking your opponent to lose is not acceptable, full stop.

However, I believe that Byun and Coca got punished heavily (I would say that the punishment exceeds the crime). But to say that what they did was "no big deal" is wrong.

Great games and pretty sick it went 9 games like the group A. Too bad Wolf is unbearable to listen to with his monotone and hype killing. I wish I could just hear Khaldor but I had to mute the entire thing sometimes.

I am so happy as I was a big ZenEX fan back when they had Byun, CoCa, Puzzle etc and now Byun gets a triple kill! :D I mean of course the play of his opponents was sketchy but just coming back in the first televised games after 6 months or so and he wins thrice :D

Then again he is the Energizer Byunny so of course he would win a couple of games!
Life has won two GSLs and a Blizzard Cup. NOT three GSLs.

Lol rage. Actually prime is a better team than Startale, and the only player who played well was Curious. Prime is winning all the team leagues right now.
