I mean, he isn't exactly the player I would call "on par" with today's metagame to be able to give analytical insight.. You're kidding, right? IdrA is calling everything perfectly. Subpar results lately =/= lack of metagame knowledge and insight.
This is exactly what Carmac wanted; The NA slumping hero is eliminated at the first round, which means lots of NA fanboys will not watch the tournament anymore?
MAKE HIM CAST
Look at this LR.
The last 5 pages are just about people with "United States" written next to them drooling because a 1-4 player that loses to 2 base allin from everyone is casting.

Idra is a very good caster, love it when players give analysis.

Terran in sc2 is way way way way not his style. You have to like, use strategies and stuff. You can't just do the exact same thing every game. idk Polt just won Asus Rog with the same build over and over. I think T would suit him well. T is played strongest as macro with harrass. Polt played it to perfection I think he did it in 3 or 4 games. Polt's multitasking was not spectacular for a probably Code S level Korean terran, but his decision-making was certainly one of the best. It was his decision making and his tank position that beat stephano. Polt is streaming right now, you should go watch his multitasking lol. It's ridiculous how he could drop at 2 places, attack the third, macro and micro all of them so so well while losing like 50 SCVs. He's really really good dude.
I love how Polt went from being a subpar cheesy terran that badmouthed jinro in gsl to a GSL super tournament winner that most people ignored where he rolled MMA to now being one of the most well-liked and hard working korean terrans out there :D

If history is any indicator... KR GM(at least getting into it) is like kindergarten compared to Code A qualifier. And I think if he put his heart into it Artosis, could do it. Pretty much every top foreigner, training in KR has made it into GM there.

I really enjoy when intelligent players cast, they call everything so much better than most of the pure casters.

Could someone actually do what this thread is for, talk about what happens in the games instead of talking about Idra casting? I can't watch the stream and would like to know what is happening.

I'm really very surprised with Idra's casting. It's not as crazy biased as I was imagining it to be.

you can see zenios gsl match preparation for this map here again, very similiar to how he beat sc on this map in the exact same spawn locations

He´s just biased when he is playing (naturally - because he is flawless in his mind ). But his casting is really enjoyable.

Yeah, Apollo is usually the expert, but he's definitely taking full advantage of having a pro-player co-casting with. Don't get me wrong, Apollo has plenty of knowledge, but nowhere near the expertise of Idra.

Oh man Idra is casting? I can't wait to see what slasher tweets about this.
|
Zenio cheesed on his bad map, Supernova cheesed on his good map without being forced to do it. Now even if it's 1-1, Zenio should feel ahead in the series.
About Idra, I'd like to point out how incredibly mannered he is in person when casting. Eg: Apollo interrupts him, Idra says "I'm sorry, go ahead" (he was actually the one talking and Apollo interrupted him in the middle of the sentence). And, Idra didn't say it with sarcasm or anything, he's just incredibly patient despite obviously understanding the matter a lot better.

Zenio doing great. Though I hate his vP style with the mass muta baserace thingy - really solid and succesful nevertheless.
|
Idra is seriously such a darn good caster.
|
Appolo and IdrA make a stunning pair!
I remember IdrA casting EG:MCS and NASL S1.... It's absolutely astounding what he knows and the insight that he has.
|
IdrA playing sucky right now, but casting really well.
