It is the message conveyed in the stalwart zerglings on the right. Look at them. They have been chosen by her majesty the queen of blades for a purpose. That's what they know, from the moment they hatch they live under the assumption that what they do is for the betterment of the swarm. Now here they are, not in the comfortable warmth of the home-world they never knew, they are in this strange green land. Yet still they stand. They face a titanic behemoth who's soul purpose is the eradication of their species, yet still this brave octuplet of zerglings hold their ground. Two of their brethren are literally burning alive but somehow the rest find the courage to charge head on against their loathsome enemy. I believe the artist is actually harkening back to The Bard himself with those zerglings. The few, the happy few, the band of brothers. In the end, while the existential questions that the colossus brings one to ask are worthy of some pondering, the manifestation of human emotion represented by the zerglings is the far more compelling stroke of genius in this artwork. Indeed, the zerglings are the anthropomorphization of the proverbial hero. The task set before them is monstrous indeed. I think that's why the artist opted for such a linear representation of them. That's all we ever get to see in competition really: the superficial result of something much greater that only those who truly understand what's going on in the competition can appreciate. If unmicroed, those zerglings are doomed. But maybe it's just a ploy, maybe while that's going on there's a baneling drop in the mineral lines? We don't know. We don't know what is happening in the greater context of that photo, nor do we know what will happen tonight. We certainly can't even begin to understand what the brave competitors tonight will go through just as we don't know the fate of the zerglings or collosus. Sure, there's a favorite, but champions are not crowned on paper, and that's the bottom line of this brilliant illustration. + Show Spoiler + Fuck, the guy I quoted was way more succinct with his words.
