Apparently some people are dumb enough to STILL be asking for it, so let's make things clear:
Do NOT ask for re-streams, and do NOT post re-streams.
Do not come here and muddle the thread by bitching about PPV. |

If DRG had scouted the third, he could have won easily with a roach push, so it is his fault. It was still sad to see though. Like Tasteless mentioned, MKP had Sieged-up Tanks on the high ground to defend against Roach pushes.

If anything, a huge event like MLG Providence is more worthy of adopting a PPV model, I'm too frugal to buy it unless it was $10. But $20 for this event didn't seem all that great (and I managed fine just reading Play-by-Play's). So don't do a homestory cup again either? Big players, no applause etc.
This makes no sense. Homestory Cup was not a PPV event. It was free? You're comparing apples to submarines here.

10k but the tournament had the best players in the world with very few exceptions.
It was as stacked as the gsl in terms of the level of competition
10k is still a huge sum for a sc2 tournamnt. Very few tournaments exceed that amount

So MKP is the true Dong he will win Code S next season noone can beat him in TvZ and TvT you watch he will destroy everyone. What? Sorry but what games are you watching, Genius totally outclassed MarineKing in their final games.... such ignorant statements. He will win next season of Code S trust me he only lost to a gimicky 2 base Deathball. He won't make the same mistake again MKP will show to all those who deny his true power that he is the true master. And Choya will win the next Code S after that... Trust me ! MKP just outsmarted DRG, that's it. I wouldn't read too much into it.
Lol he is the best player in the world you seem mad he was superior he is the best Korean on ladder with the highest win percentage always. 80% Korean Ladder is amazing. Also he has nerve issues at live events when he overcomes that he will smash everyone into the ground.

I do like his greedy strategy but it was certainly not optimized.
MKP had everything set up really well. He had a reactor starport, factory with tech lab and double engineering bay. He wanted to get 2 medivacs, 2 upgrades, siege tank and siege mode. Thats 625 gas and 650 minerals.
OK, he has no minerals, but he's on triple orbital with 40+ scvs. How long does it take to mine 650 minerals? My guess is about 20-25 seconds. How long does it take to mine 625 gas? About a week?
This little gas pile was a clutch component to his victory and allowed him to get a powerful, midgame army that is as-good-as-terran gets really.

Talking about no getting ahead of ourselves, one OK tournament from Alive and he is a top player? Marineking is definitely at least on aLive's level if not higher. 2-0 head to head in code s. Common opponent: Genius aLive vs Genius: 0-3 Marineking vs. Genius: 3-2 Marineking's TvT has skyrocketed in the last month. His tvp is probably close to #1... he went positive against genius who crushed everyone, 2-0d parting in this tournament MMA has the ability to beat Mvp though and still probably better TvZ although beating DRG here is very impressive with the way DRG has been playing. TvP: MKP > aLive, MKP > MMA TvT: MKP > or = aLive, MKP < MMA TvZ MKP > or = aLive, MKP < MMA but the gap isnt too big

Perhaps as far as prize pool goes. But the competition there was as strong as it comes and although there were several surpirse upsets throughtout the tournament (MVP, Nestea especially) DRG is as hard an opponent as there is, so it was a vety strong finish nonetheless, especially considering the number of high tier players Marineking faced on his path to the finals.

No it wasn't.
Take a look at both pools. You can't seriously tell me that this bracket compares to Code S.
It was stacked no doubt, probably the most stacked we've seen at a foreign event, but not as high class across the field as Code S.
Not saying that's a bad thing or anything, but its true.

Great event I really enjoyed it. So happy to see MKP finally win something and solidify that he belongs in the top tier and not just as an afterthought. Was really disappointed that tastosis didn't build up any enthusiasm to his win. It was a huge deal and it was kind of lame how underplayed it was. Games were fantastic all weekend, the first time i really enjoyed watching PvZ ( Ret vs Huk game 1 omgomg or DRG vs Parting on Taldarim), and really thought that everyone was playing their A game ( with the exception of MVP and Nestea what the hell happened with them?)
The one point artosis made really struck me today though: is MKP not even reaching his potential due to lack of top tier practice? I tend to not think so but it was an interesting point..

Yes, the prize pool certainly wasn't the highest we've seen but the calibre of the players presnt should by no means be underestimated. Must have been the highest out there in SC2 atm besides GSL and perhaps MLG Provdience.

Could apply that bias and argument to any player.
I mean, if you hadn't have quoted someone talking about MKP when you said "he" I could have inferred you were talking about aLive.
Protoss deathball been happening for months now and MKP has had a good record against Protoss the entire time, so I don't quite get your argument anyway unless every loss is someone elses fault other than MKPs? You can keep blaming stuff like nerves, Protoss, MVPtheultimateMKProadblock, etc but GSL champions overcome all of that and then some.
Not being all anti-MKP here (because honestly MKP definitely has the talent and skill to be at the top), but the bias is a little too biased for my bias =P

Did you watch the first group stage this GSL season? MKP just demolished aLive there, maybe it was a fluke or something but since that game aLive didn't even lose a single TvT, so I don't know, I don't want to talk about if and that and ifs but just saying MKP crushed aLive 2-0. MKP TvT and TvP skyrocketed so high that all of the sudden it looks like his TvZ is his weakest match up which he proved that he can beat DRG at his top form really.
