Rutgers
CMU

SEEDING UPDATE for 1st and 2nd seed
#1 1st Cincinnati
#2 1st CMU
#3 1st Pittsburgh
#4 1st Rutgers
#5 1st UMBC
#6 1st Harvard
#1 2nd Columbia
#2 2nd GWU
#3 2nd Waterloo
#4 2nd RPI
#5 2nd Miami
#6 2nd OSU

WILDCARD UPDATE
Because Group 6 only had 3 teams, the 3rd seed of their group will not be considered for the wildcard, due to the unfair advantage given by the fact that they only played 2 matches each. Because of that, there are 3 wildcards that have been determined for sure (though seeding between them is TBA):

Case Western Reserve University
New York University
Pennsylvania State University

If Waterloo loses to VCU, Waterloo and CWRU will play for the top 2 WC spots.
NYU vs PSU to determine bottom 2 WC spots.

Waterloo Wins! If VCU loses to Waterloo, VCU will play against UNC for the last WC spot.
NYU and PSU will still play for the #2 and #3 spot, and CWRU will be #1 WC seed.

+ Show Spoiler [Update as of 1st seed rankings determi…] +

1st Seed Rankings are as follows:
#1 Cincinnati
#2 CMU
#3 Pittsburgh
#4 Rutgers
#5 UMBC
#6 Harvard

We still have 2 groups that we're waiting for results on - we'll post the final seedings after the results are in.

Round of 16 Seeding Explanation: A note to all teams (and curious viewers), in the Ro16, we will have 6 1st seeds, 6 2nd seeds, and 4 "wildcards." The 4 wildcards will be determined based on set differentials, and chosen between all the schools that came out as 1-2 (3rd seeds). Any ties between set differential will be settled by a Bo1 between teams (possibly multiple Bo1s in the case of a 3-or-more-way-tie). This will be played at noon, 12pm That will determine the 4 wildcards that will be seeded as the last 4 spots of the Ro16.

Amongst the 1st and 2nd seeds, we will be giving them rankings based on set differentials from the group stage. In the case of a tie, we will use a random number generator to determine the order of those teams in the seeding.

Matchups will be paired as following:

#1 1st Seed vs. #4 Wildcard
#2 1st Seed vs. #3 Wildcard
#3 1st Seed vs. #2 Wildcard
#4 1st Seed vs. #1 Wildcard
#5 1st Seed vs. #6 2nd Seed
#6 1st Seed vs. #5 2nd Seed
#1 2nd Seed vs. #4 2nd Seed
#2 2nd Seed vs. #3 2nd Seed

Again, the bracket google doc is being regularly updated - you can determine your chances of seeding/wildcard by doing the math from the results posted there.

Group Stages
Groups were seeded according to current regional standings in the Collegiate Starleague Season 5.

+ Show Spoiler +

Tournament Format
  • Dual tournament. There are three rounds of gameplay per group.
    Round 1: Teams A vs B and C vs D (1st vs 4th seed, 2nd vs 3rd seed)
Round 2: Winners match and losers match (winner of A vs B plays winner of C vs D and loser of A vs B plays loser of C vs D)
Round 3: Loser of winners match plays the winner of losers match
  • In the case of a group of 3, the teams will play in a round robin format.
  • The top two teams (2 wins) from each group will move on to the Ro16.
  • Four wildcards will be seeded into the Ro16 based on highest match and set win-loss differential.

Match Format
  • The format of each match is three 1v1s, one 2v2, and one 1v1 closing ace match. The match goes to the team that first gets to three wins in order by lineup.
    Set 1: 1v1
    Set 2: 1v1
    Set 3: 2v2
    Set 4: 1v1
    Closer: Ace
  • Players will be decided through a double-blind pick at the beginning of each match. Team coordinators will field a team by informing a referee of their lineup decisions before the match.
  • Random racing is allowed.
  • Double racing is NOT allowed in 2v2. However, RR, RZ, RP, and RT are allowed.
  • Playing two different races in one match is allowed. You must play the race that you specify.
  • The first four sets of the match must have 5 unique players from each team.
  • A player can play at most twice in one match: once in sets 1-4 and again in the ace match. If playing again in the ace match, the player does not need to play as the same race as the previous game.

Map Pool
  • Groups R1: (1) Antiga Shipyards, (2) Tal'Darim Altar LE, (3) Ruins of Tarsonis, (4) MLG Dual Sight, (Ace) MLG Metalopolis
  • Groups R2: (1) Cloud Kingdom, (2) MLG Shakuras Plateau, (3) Khaydarin Depths, (4) MLG Metalopolis, (Ace) Daybreak
  • Groups R3: (1) MLG Metalopolis, (2) MLG Dual Sight, (3) Scorched Haven, (4) MLG The Shattered Temple, (Ace) Tal'Darim Altar LE
  • Ro16: (1) Tal'Darim Altar LE, (2) MLG The Shattered Temple, (3) Khaydarin Depths, (4) MLG Metalopolis, (Ace) MLG Dual Sight
  • Ro8: (1) Antiga Shipyards, (2) Cloud Kingdom, (3) Scorched Haven, (4) Daybreak, (Ace) MLG The Shattered Temple
  • Semi-Finals: (1) MLG The Shattered Temple, (2) MLG Dual Sight, (3) Ruins of Tarsonis, (4) Cloud Kingdom, (Ace) MLG Shakuras
  • Finals: (1) Daybreak, (2) Cloud Kingdom, (3) Scorched Haven, (4) Antiga Shipyards, (Ace) Tal'Darim Altar LE

Administrative rules
  • Teams are considered no-shows 10 minutes after the scheduled time and are given an automatic match loss. Please report to your assigned tournament admin on time.
  • Players are considered no-shows 5 minutes after the preceding set ends and are given an automatic set loss.
This means that if Set 1 ends at 8:55, each team has 5 minutes (until 9:00) to field their next player. If the set loss is recorded, teams have another 5 minutes to field their next players (9:05) and so on.
  • Players must be set up and ready for their match during the preceding set. There will be a playing and set-up station at each table.

Gameplay Rules
  • All games will take place on Battle.net North American server
  • All games are to be played in game mode 1v1 (except for the Set 3, 2v2 match, of course) and game speed Faster.
  • Only players and CSL commentators are officially allowed in game. If both players agree, observers may join the game. ALL observers unaffiliated with CSL staff can be asked to leave at the players’ discretion, or can be denied entry before the game starts. Failure to adhere to a request to leave the game within a reasonable amount of time will result in an automatic set-loss for the observer’s team.
  • In-game chat should be limited to pp, ppp, or related (for PAUSING the game) and gg, good game or related (for ENDING the game). Players can ask to remake the game in the first 30 seconds if there are latency issues. Note: This rule is not meant to be strict; however, if a player asks for chat to stop, his request must be obliged. Continuing to chat will result in a set loss.
PROCEDURAL NOTE: To claim a set win, please request politely: "please stop chatting or I am reporting you for a chatting violation," and then do not respond to further provocations by other players. If the other player continues to chat and BM, it would be perfectly acceptable to, at that point, leave the game and report the game to a tournament admin.
  • In the case that a player is unintentionally dropped, there will be a rematch to determine the winner. In case a game clearly has a winner as determined by CSL staff, the set point will go to that winner. This rule does not pertain to intentionally dropped games.
  • Teams will no longer be allowed to intentionally drop a player in the 2v2 set to "mineral feed" their teammate before mineral feeding is allowed at the 5:00 minute mark. Doing so will result in a forfeit for the violating team.
  • IMPORTANT NOTE: Remember, results will stand if you play through the game. If there are problems or issues (lag, chat violations, etc) that call for a regame or forfeit, please pause the game and ask for a CSL admin. If you play through the game, you CANNOT retroactively request regames or forfeits.

Bannable offenses
  • Smurfing, maphacking, observer hacking, in-game coaching, and any type of behavior that gives an unfair advantage to a player can be grounds for a permanent player ban.
  • Depending on how far the season has progressed, the player's team will either be given a match loss or be disqualified from the league (if it is discovered that the player has been using an unfair advantage throughout the season).

Not true T__T I go to CSL meetings and you quit school, lol, plus I've been around actual esports and not just one game lately ;P

Also, my CSL team is going but only the players for the tournament, and some of them are from NJ so they're just going to go home for spring break afterwards so I'm staying in DC.
