He had to try to break drg's poistion in the middle while the broods were morphing. Otherwise he'd be contained on 3 bases and get map-owned.

At least I think that was his logic.

I don't think hiding the void rays better would have changed the outcome of that game. DRG scouted 4 gas, no sentries, one of the stargates and kept producing queens non-stop anyways.

Double Stargate definitely is a bit gimmicky, there's a reason most people go for a single SG most of the time. You just have to do a lot of economic damage with double SG, and most zergs are good enough to prevent that.

Single stargate looks like crap after the spore change imo. It's safe but doesnt seem like it ever does enoguh to punish the fast third. When is drg supposed to take his gas to tell a fast 3 hatch?

DRG reacted to that double stargate and +1 ground attack pretty much perfectly.

Not only did he build a hell lot of Queens but he also upgraded +1 carapace, which is fantastic against Phoenix attacks and also nice for Voidrays, so the Queens he got are much more durable. And of course in case it was half a warpgate push the Zealots wouldn't have been as devastating.

He also let all 3 voids die. He could have at least saved them to hold off roach pressure. Maybe he thought he was killing the last few queens though. Bad micro on it regardless.
