Not just you. I'd be pretty happy if he disappeared into Code B never to return.
Um... This is the RO16 he was in... of code S. That means that he had to qualify for code S through the up downs, and then get past the RO32. He then was one fucking game away from winning last night, as he beat Genius three games in a row, and then lost two.
At the very least, he deserves to be here fighting with the best, and if you want him to disappear into Code B too bad. MKP is here to stay, he's got the heart of a champion.

Genius has been stomping GSL and SC2 since forever. Back when he was NEXGenius he topped the Korea ladder. He hasn't had as much exposure in foreign tournaments as a lot of other players and he hasn't been able to shine in GSL like MC but hes up there as one of the best protoss.
Why do people always forget that he won the first Blizzcon SC2 championship?
That was huge at the time.
He won it when the only real threats to him were Maka, Loner and Dimaga to a lesser extent.
In a tournament where KR qualifiers only invited 8 players meaning better players (ie. Fruitdealer, Rainbow) could not participate. Don't get me wrong. He was good, but hyping that win up isn't really saying much, considering the relatively low level of competition that tournament had.
It's good to see that he's still dedicated and has been improving far better than Rainbow and the others.
Thats not the point, he was saying that Genius has had no exposure in foreign tournaments when actually he won what was possibly the biggest foreign SC2 tournament in 2010. Everyone who has followed SC2 from the start should know him well.

And the fact that he managed to get out of his slump shows it. A lot of players slump, then get mediocre forever. MC, MVP (his slump wasn't very long), Nestea, MKP, Genius (and certainly more), all had hard times and came back at the top. Look at Losira for instance. Now he struggle to beat unknowns in weeklies. Well, perhaps he'll get good again, I don't know.

I think you (and most people) are making a mistake when they call it a slump. A slump would be where they actually get worse as a player, That isn't the case. It's actually the player not getting better as fast as the players he is playing against, which doesnt really feel like a slump to me..

Yes, perhaps it's true for some players, but MC was definitely worse during his slump, MKP too. Losira is just playing terrible atm. But I guess your explanation is true in most cases yes.

I have never understand why people actively root against a player simply because he has fans. Also there is more to liking a player then simply winning.
I don't think it's that people dislike a player for having fans but rather the fans a player has can be annoying and people don't want those. An easy solution is for the player to disappear and then the fans won't have anyone to cheer for.
It's a bit hypocritical to wish MKP would disappear. By that logic, Nestea had worse results and has had far greater hype and hasn't won a GSL since July. Whelp, I guess he should disappear too? C'mon.

Agreed. MKP was literally 1 game away from the Ro8 Code S.

I think that is part of the reason. I dislike idra for his bm and his fanbase and hope he disappears from the scene, but foreign tourneys are too easy, so he'll always be invited to those and remain relevant in the foreign scene. Idra declared war on MKP on inside the game the other day, so his fans have to attack MKP now because Idra has always been jealous of MKP's success and fanbase dating back to gsl open season 2. I don't think there's even a debate and it's clearcut that idra fans are the most annoying in the scene.

Ho, that explains a lot :D Idra is really weird and gimmicky tho.

... people like you are the most annoying people in the scene. Why do you have to say things like "it's clearcut that idra fans are the most annoying in the scene." Just completely unnecessary and insulting

Gumiho doesn't have a cheesy plat at all.
Explain how he beat Mvp. He had to rely on clock banshees to win. That's pretty cheesy.
If that is cheesy, then Mvp is just as cheesy as him.
Mvp doesn't cheese, he does early tactical plays in order to gain an advantage for mid and late game.
I hope this GSL puts an end to the constant toss whine now. Toss has never been as weak as people made them out to be. Terrans are now an endangered species in GSL.
