I'd be pretty happy if he disappeared into Code B never to return. I make three. I don't really care for him at all. He is an innnovative player who can beat anyone on his day, also he is a fan-favourite. He is exactly the kind of player SC2 need to continue rising. He's definitely a good player, especially his marine micro. I'm just a little put off by a few things he does, some of which aren't even inside of the game itself. For example, I like players having personalities, but him crying all the time is ridiculous. I also wasn't really a fan of him advertising that whole country/ political pressure opinion during one of the first GSLs. Something about China and Taiwan, or whatever the story was... it was pretty unprofessional. And then this most recent set- where he did the standard dick-ish 5 minute Terran all-in against Protoss, and then 5rax no add-ons, didn't really make him appear any more likeable to me, as a Protoss. ::shrugs:: But I'm not gonna argue, because I totally see why people like him It was about the Dokdo islands, which is a dispute between SK and JPN. Far cry from some dispute between TW and CN...
Thank you for the correction I just remember it being a very controversial topic.

He made it to the round of 16 in code s, a feat that almost all foregniors will never get to have. Seems amazing to me people are just jealous he has girl fans and they don't. he's not top 5 players in the world but he's still damn good. His control may well be in the top 5 in the world. I can't think of anyone that has definitively better bio control than MKP. And with this GSL one could argue he is at least in the top 16 in the world overall.

His play online is ridiculously strong but he's known to suffer from nerves which makes his lan performance kinda weak. 2) He's a unique and original player, he does a lot of weird stuff and it's fun to watch. and three, a lot of long term SC2 fans remember when he first came onto the scene. With the exception of his first game in GSL 2 every game he played that season was new and exciting. He elevated the game as a spectator experience.

Lol looks like Nestea MC'd himself picking DRG. When will these players learn you don't pick top contenders when have a choice?

I have never understand why people actively root against a player simply because he has fans. Also there is more to liking a player then simply winning.

Well, there is a difference. MC picked MVP because he wanted to show off, NesTea picked DRG because ZvZ is still his best matchup (his only good MU right now, by the standards people expext of him?!?) and there are not really any bad players left anyways in GSL Ro16 2012, unlike Ro32 2011.

Nestea is slowly fading. This is good, it shows that game understanding is increasing across the board and accelerating.

MKP noooo :O I went to sleep after he 2-0ed Genius thinking he was gonna be advancing for sure... Didnt expect Genius to beat NesTea, damn.. MVP looking very strong with these 2.

Genius has been stomping GSL and SC2 since forever. Back when he was NEXGenius he topped the Korea ladder. He hasn't had as much exposure in foreign tournaments as a lot of other players and he hasn't been able to shine in GSL like MC but hes up there as one of the best protoss.

peoplez y u no stop hating mkp? he is definitely one of the most funniest players to watch, always doing some crazy awesome stuff, has insane micro, good manners, what do you want more? he has doing very well on many korean and foreign tournaments recently. For sure he is much mure awesome and unique than that standard stuff you often see in gsl.

not to mention that he was there since season 2 and made it out of the group stage of GSL in like 20 of the 10tournaments that's solid!

Gonna say what I've said since the first time I saw DRG play...he is the first true SC2 GOD!

Curious is less of a threat than DongRaeGu. He could have picked Curious.

That was huge at the time.

Wow. Climbed 150 ranks when only getting MKP vs Genius right. People must've been way off on their bets today. Expected more from Nestea, but DRG is really good.

In a tournament where KR qualifiers only invited 8 players meaning better players (ie. Fruitdealer, Rainbow) could not participate. Don't get me wrong. He was good, but hyping that win up isn't really saying much, considering the relatively low level of competition that tournament had.
It's good to see that he's still dedicated and has been improving far better than Rainbow and the others.

MC didn't want to show off, he wanted to take him out early so he can pass him in points to make blizzcon

Shit Genius is so good I think he can finally make a semi final

He still overcame the terrans, in a period where they routinely won games because protoss couldn't forcefield their ramp well enough, it was a great performance in the context. edit : I was talking about that earlier, but any player that was there during the open seasons and who is still relevant/code S has my eternal respect.
