It is so awesome that Socke, Hasu and NarutO were casting the games for the german community. If I am right Goody will join them in the next days and cast with them together. That´s going to be great.
And I´m glad that DarkForce made it to the next round. I hope that he´ll advance to the quarterfinals. :X

Feast forgot to set his status to "busy" or away, or whatever it is that prevents you from getting PMs.

So then, after like 5 or so minutes, both players have expanded when suddenly Feast says "wtfffff" and pauses the game. A ref goes into the booth, goes back out, talks to DeMuslim.

Turns out some random guy PMed Feast, telling him about DeMuslims build. DeMuslim had had a build specifically prepared for that map, so obviously he wouldn't have really wanted to just restart and do a different strat, but the fact that Feast knew what he was doing kinda screwed him.

They were debating what to do in chat when Feast just basically volunteered to tell DeMuslim his OWN build order, right down to how many attacking units he'd already produced. DeMuslim laughed and said something to the effect of how he didn't need to be THAT specific. DeMuslim then volunteered to tell Feast his own unit count.

Then they continued the game.

The game was fairly even, and I would even say DeMuslim had the advantage for a good portion of the game. But Feast ultimately won.

A lot of posters on TL applauded the manner of both players, but at the same time it was kind of a crappy situation for DeMuslim, and there's a fair contingent that think it was Feasts responsibility to prevent himself from getting PMs, and that the only truly fair thing to do would have been to award the game to DeMuslim (a regame would probably have been even WORSE for DeMuslim).

It kinda sucked, but the players seemed to be cool with what went down, and DeMuslim got through the group stage anyway, so I don't think anyone is going to protest too much.

Thank you for that recap Fighter.

And I say there should be a witch hunt for the guy that PM'd Feast. Burn down ALL his internets! Doesn't matter if Feast had busy on or not, just attempting to do that kind of thing (telling Feast Demuslim's build) is only something a complete asshole is capable of.

I'm not surprised that DeMuslim did so poorly. After watching his stream it seems as though the EG team practice is really not very productive. I have played Hockey on a semi pro level and I can tell you our practices are hard work! When I watch the EG team practice they just joke around with each other and don't accomplish much.

The biggest colporate seems to be DeMuslim. I have been watching countless times when he starts joking around with machine and lzgamer as they are trying to practice. It's not fair to his teamates and it's not fair to his self.

If EG wants to be a successfully team I think they need to take a look at how their players are practicing and really keep them on a tighter leash. No more joking around guys...

when progamers stream, they also want to entertain their viewers. its not always fun to watch just gameplay over and over again.

The big issue is that DeMu is only practising against weaker opponents (the american EG guys). Comparatively Bling trains with Stephano.

LOL at liquipedia:

On January 12th 2012, Illusion secured a spot for IEM Sao Paulo by upsetting DeMusliM 3-0, also defeating Ret and KawaiiRice on his path to qualifying. After losing to DarKFoRcE and KiLLeR, however, he was eliminated from the tournament.

and they are still playing. but good to know darkforce win the match. liquipedia knows the future :D
