I 1gate expand into robo + x number of gates if I think he might be 1/1/1ing me. I really think 2gate robo is meant to be a more flexible build for MMM pushes. just my feeling.

It's not that it's not easy to focus immos. It's that focusing immos are a high risk proposition. They have so much shields that you can endup damaging it and then not actually killing it. The problem isn't with immos even, it's the forcefields.
Without force fields, anyone can just glance at a situ and fairly accurately predict what they can and can't kill and then adjust on which units to kill first.
With force fields the mental calculation required is fairly intense as to what units you can kill at what minitimings (tactical, not strategical timings)
