Let's have a nice clean LR thread folks! Beware that moderation will probably be stricter than usual, balance whine, player bashing and trolling will not be tolerated! |

3 championships.

Ok MVP. Show us how badly you're going to dominate this GSL season.

you are watching the best of 3, final of GSL right now . Cheer

Epically late pool from Nestea, like 17?
|
someone loses a ZvZ to nestea, arguably the best ZvZ in the world, and people start hating on idra? maybe idra expected to lose and has been instead focusing on training for the following games. Although if MVP beats nestea then idra will have to play nestea again
i just hope he doesnt give up after one try into code S. Its the hardest tournament around and sometimes you can just get an unlucky group

This is a finals level matchup, crazy.

Dragon vs Knight! Now that's accurate!

naniwa can't make it to code s on his own, so we'll probably never find out.

So, while MVP is totally focused...

I don't get why people seem to think IdrA could beat MVP when the last few times he's played PuMa (who failed to qualify to code A) he's got absolutely crushed. That should tell you he cannot beat MVP.

What are you talking about? Neither side made any major mistakes at all. Game one was a straight build order loss (14/14 should hold that build every time, hatch first or 9pool can't hold it at all). Game two was Idra again playing a really risky macro build and Nestea doing a counter build and not fucking up. Idra's micro and control in game 2 was a lot worse than Nestea's. I felt Idra was in a good position at certain points but Nestea just made right decision after right decision where as Idra (as usual) was completely lost in a weird/funky game. Nestea knew exactly what to do in that game all the way through, Idra didn't. ...they were almost identical, Nestea threw away a couple banelings and Idra threw away around 8-10 lings (but actually got some scouting for it). And no amount of micro and control lets 20 zerglings, a queen and a spine kill 25 zerglings with 6-8 banelings. Stop over-reading that game.

haven't seen any banshees ending a game in TvsT for a long time now.. TvsT is definitely less coinflip than ZvsZ, althought mirror matches cannot avoid coinflips completely.

mvp builds his rax on the lowground but nestea senses a disturbance in the force and spots it with his first overlord

You can defend him all day long, but its just too greedy to open hatch first an a map with a huge ramp where the natural is also far away from the main. this isnt a NA Ladder game where the opoonent is easily outmicroed or outmacroed. its the GSL Code S aka. best Players in the World. so its simply bad play when you pick a strategy that has obviously hardcounters. I would normally agree with you but it's ZvZ, if you open anything other than 14/14 you could get a random BO loss. And realistically you aren't going to open zvz every game. He gambled that his cheese game one would scare nestea off and it didn't. That's all that happened. He didn't get outclassed. Anyone who says he did knows less aboutu ZvZ than Lucky.

Blizzcon, MLG and on a bad day he might get 4th place. Usually a pretty bad day when that happens. Like he's been playing for 7 days straight.

It's not like Idra and Cella are actually doing this Starcraft 2 thing full time and people are still claiming that Idra played really bad. In the first game he wanted to punish Nestea for Hatch before pool, in the second game Nestea did the same thing to him and succeded.
idra risked twice and paid the price, nestea risked once and he won, if idra was so good at zvz i guess he wouldnt mind playing 14/14 vs nestea in second game

I think he basically considered that first series a throw away, so he plays his match agaist Lucky, which he expects to win. He then is then basing an MvP win over Nestea, and has some special builds planned to dismantle NesTea in their second series, thus advancing 2-1.
I am very sure I am completely wrong, but hey a guy can hope right? And lets be honest, that play was not Idra. It was slow, sloppy, and bad decision making. This way he is banking on winning 2 ZvZ's over a match against MvP.
I guess we will see how he plays against lucky. If it is COMPLETELY a much higher level than those games, i think i might be right. you blew my mind away...
Haha its an interesting thought ay? Maybe thats what he and cella have been discussing? Maybe not?
most likely in between games cella just came in and told him not to do that again.
