Not a major tournament.

I guess Major tournaments are only IPL3, MLG's this season (even if the IPL quali he won had more money than a normal MLG), and the GSL?

I'd say MLG, GSL, Dreamhack, IPL3, Assembly, Homestory, WCG are the major tournaments.

Just stop posting really, Assembly had a much worse field than I44 .

How many koreans a tournament has defines how competitive it is lol.

There's major and premiere tournaments on Liqupedia, they divide quite reasonably.

No offense but there is only one major tounament GSL. All the others are minor leagues w/o the best players all in one place.

Defiantly a major tournament when you considered the cash price and the players there. SlayersRyung and some other koreans+ sase,grubby,white-ra,Thorzain and many others.

If thats not a major tournament then i dont know what is.

It's not a major tournament for the same reason the Battle for Berlin wasn't a major tournament. One Code S Korean, One Code B Korean and a handful of Europeans. Not a major tournament.

A lot of the Weekly Cups have pretty solid lineups, I44 was pretty stacked though I think it got pretty unfairly overlooked by the community

Stephano´s ZvT is ridiculous. I don´t get how can people balance whine about ZvT after seeing games like this where Stephano wins so convincingly.

Poor Tzain but it seems he needs to reevaluate his TvZ.

Well statisticly I think tvz is Zerg favoured and quite alot zerg favoured in europe because the race is easyer to play at this level overall. But this is teamliquid so people whine about everything and especialy terran, its hard to tell whats balanced and whats not

Dont think imbalance played a role here though, stephano is playing better atm.

Yeah of course this has nothing to do with balance. The better player(at the moment) is winning dunno about statistics but overall I feel that the better player wins the MU

Surely it's conceivable that major tournaments cannot have many Koreans. They would just not be as competitive as the tournaments with the Koreans. So it's a matter of prestige rather than respectability.

Thorzain might just have a psychological disadvantage against Stephano.
On his stream he talked about how he feels he is a class below Stephano as a player, even though he is one of the best foreign Terrans. It certainly doesn't feel like the normal Thorzain, at least not in this last game. Kind of forcing the MVP marine tank push.

To be truly respected you definitely need some Koreans, but if you have nearly every top non Korean like Assembly did then you can come close.
