And yes, there was luck in the builds. MMA got vikings. Polt went cloaked banshees. The result? All of Polt's banshees die instantly and do nothing. If MMA doesn't get vikings, Polt gets SCV's and gets an early lead.
But every game has luck involved with build orders.

It seems like all of Polt's losses against the top, top TvTers boils down to a micro mistake in a major engagement:
MvP: Doom drop in MvP's main only kills turrets and he loses all the marines.
Bomber: Only attacks with half his vikings and gets steamrolled by BCs.
MMA: Flanks on one side but doesn't flank on the other (for reference to the opposite, see his Up-and-Down match against Supernova in GSL January).
I wonder why he doesn't start to mix in marauders into his later-game composition if he's so intent on busting tank lines.

That was never gonna end in any other way.
No way Polt was taking out Leenock even in 10 matches, so it was basicly up to Leenock/MMA to finish the tiebreaker.

That first game they sorta both didn't play super good.
Polt threw it away with a stupid mistake charging into the Planetary but then MMA gave it back to him with the random nonsensical drop idea.
But yeah Polt wasn't lucky he beat MMA fair and square.

Polt did beat Leenock on Calm Before the Storm during GSL November, but I don't think Polt matches up well with Leenock. Same as I don't think MMA usually matches up well with Polt.

Actually this would be incredibly unfortunate for Mvp if he lost to Polt. MMA was going to qualify regardless because Blizzcon could only have gone to Nestea or Mvp and they both qualified already. Of course I think Mvp would happily lose this tournament if he was given a choice between it and WCG. Representing your country and emulating past BW legends probably means more to him than this tournament, even though it is bigger in terms of recognition. I don't see Mvp will losing to Polt though.
