Nani is a good player. but this is what happen when Korean start to analyse yr game and build up strategies to couter you. Mc is struggling with that and now more tosses get the service.

What was that? Buying stim?

No gas and only one rax seen. He would have thought proxy rax. Doesn't take a genius.

How the fuck could Naniwa properly have scouted that? Naniwa defended well, but damn. I feel so sad for Naniwa. Hi, maybe go 2 gate robo before you expand? Or kindly send a probe first instead of greedily going for eco. The only thing that bothers me about this statement is how P is supposed to play 'standard' and not greedy yet a T can expand very safely without going siege tank expand (ie 2rax fac). Hell, 1rax no gas vs P is arguably safer than 1gate FE vs T and it's still greedier. I don't really think this is a balance problem (winrate wise I mean) I just think it's a design flaw.
IDK the 4 gate + immortal all in is really hard to hold with a 1 rax FE. You literally need like 8 bunkers to defend.

I can't believe the Bronze league bullshit I am reading in this thread. Naniwa lost because he opened Nexus first? That is bullshit, the attack hit after his Nexus had paid for itself, if he had lost to a proxy Rax or something then you could blame him playing greedy but not this. His 2 base income was the only thing keeping him in the game, until he couldn't spend it because of losing all his Gateways and Pylons.
He lost because he didn't scout it. Pretty straightforward, he had no idea the Thors were coming until they were at his front door. If he had seen it coming he could have held it easy. He was building a Robo Bay and 2 Forges against an all-in, he made an Observer instead of an Immortal, he was completely fucked and it was only close because MMA screwed up. His play was perfectly standard and not greedy at all, the only thing at fault was his scouting. And scouting that kind of all-in actually isn't easy.

Massive baneling bust incoming. I doubt Polt can hold. No way. THere are too many blings and too many lings to follow up.

Best of ones have no place in Starcraft anymore. I feel like i'm watching WCG 2003 or some shit.

Leenock, your play never cease to amaze me.

I somehow get the feeling that the Koreans are not taking Naniwa seriously at all or that they even try to humiliate him a bit. Only all-ins or at least hard hard pushes and no macro games..... Nani should probably try to re-evaluate himself (he was even talking about winning if in good shape during the interview). Well way I see it, Naniwa is very greedy. Remember Leenock dismantling Naniwa in the past series? Naniwa is vulnerable at the start of the game because he takes risks (technically semi-economic cheese). All-in usually punishes it.
They're taking him seriously. If they weren't, they wouldn't use pre-prepared strategies that he's never seen before. They'd play standard.
Naniwa's problem is that he, like most foreigners, has only one or two builds that he always uses. That is to say, he tries to play "standard" - as is the wisdom in the foreigner scene.
But that's not how Koreans play. When money is on the line, and they don't think they have a decisive advantage in a standard macro match, they meta-game. Right now, Korean Terrans seem to have the impression that PvT favors Protoss in a macro game. The kind of all-ins they're doing is par for the course.

"alot of terran cheese today..." yeah Moletrap Polt is allining his way out of group but not against Leenock dude

Has Naniwa won a game in an individual tourney since his time in Korea? No, LOL Except for getting 2nd in the hardest tournament of the year. LOL The hardest tournament of the year is any GSL. Providence was way harder dude. Every top player in the world was there essentially.
If more Koreans were there, the tournament would have looked a lot different and a lot harder.

Lol Leenock is the new JulyZerg, kill switch turned on.

Luckily he's pulling all his SCVS; that will help him defend against the banelings.

naniwa or any player that doesnt wanna die to proxy allins should take 2 probes every game and scout the entire map / outskirts of their base
proxies usually have to be near your base to work, and workers move really fast. Sure, it takes APM, but early game hopefully you have some APM to spare so it doesnt effect your normal build except for being 2 workers short
take those 2 workers, scout the entire map flowing away from your base so you can get vision of everything
naniwa could have found out about the rush by minute 5 easily with proper scouting
naniwa lost because of bad scouting. YES, EVERY SINGLE GAME you have to scout the entire map early with 2 workers if you want to be completely safe against proxy crap.
almost no pro does this. sometimes i see players do entire map scouts at 4:30-5:00, but its rare. ive seen some pros do it, but most pros feel its okay to not play completely safe or they are lazy
