Yet he has the highest ELO of any Korean Protoss...

Because ELO doesn't take into account the difficulty/different value of tournaments, and because of that it's pretty useless, especially in the Korean scene. Almost all Squirtle's wins are from Korean weeklys, and other random things that aren't GSL. If MC played in the Korean weekly every week, and barely played in GSL, he would still have a 70 percent winrate and be like top 5 ELO.

wow, the field for this qualifier is pretty impressive, especially considering the small scale of this tournament

http://wiki.teamliquid.net/starcraft2/HomeStory_Cup/4/KR_Qualifier

edit: oh man lol, I guess this HSC is going to be a bit bigger than the last!

You got Naniwa listed twice there.

I still wonder what's up with MC.

Well, with 15.000$ it is bigger than a normal MLG.

I wouldn't say it's useless. All the players above Squirtle with the exceotion of Neel (ie. Symbol) are great players.

Great players tend to move to the top of ELO rankings. It's not perfect, but it gives a very good general idea.

yeah I knew the prize money was very good, but I was still imagining this tourney as a ~10-man event. I guess it's not going to be in TaKe's apartment anymore? How can he possibly accommodate so many players (I'm looking at the suspected invite list posted at the top of this thread)?

It's still in his apartment but his apartment is big enough for 32 players. At HSC3 there were also 32 players in his apartment.

There's a Bar below. I don't think all the players are going to be constantly in his apartment / flat.
But it's still pretty spacious there.

It is in Take´s apartment AFAIK. Last HSC had 32 players as well, so I don´t think, that there will be a problem.

Sound had a really impressive run so far. Had not heard of this guy before.

Btw, isnt it true that only the first place gets flight / accomodation payed?
What are the chances that the 2nd / 3rd place will actually fly to the cup? Korean tams normally dont have that much money.

Shame he fucked up early on in the game, would have loved to see him win this one.
