The rules listed on their website is so wishy washy... what exactly is a resident? Temporily or permanent? Or did they actually mean citizen? >.>

I think it's where you live right now, atleast Take said on stream a few minutes ago that Ret was allowed to play the American qualifier.

Was I dreaming when I saw the tournament stream under "On air" a while ago?
|
Is there a message from an admin of the tournament on the expected down time?

Unfortunately the site keeps crashing, so the players actually can't get information. They are hoping that the site will work soon.
EDIT: they are going to set up a showmatch

They asked people on the stream to stop refreshing unless you are a player. It will start as soon as the grid can be created. No time line as far as I can tell.

Stream is hilarious, laughing so hard irl right now ;x deserves more viewers.

Hope you get this sorted, but you won't get it by asking people not to refresh your page, I am sorry

I am really sorry but I absolutelty had the feeling this was going to happen. The beta cups they ran had about 16 players or so and no attention that is just not a sufficient test for the qualifier. I mean I am absolutely not bashing but it just makes me sad. It definately makes a difference if you run an SQL query for 20 users or for ~2000 users depending on the query.

The HSC3 was run with this site, so Take thought the site would be ok.
The 16 player was more for testing the new tour system of the page i guess

Should redirect all users to a temporary site, generate grid, make it static and put it on the temporary site.
Worst case, migrate all users to a site like challonge. Under 200 users signed up last time I checked, so should be possible if nothing seems to work.

That is exactly my point the cup is the problem. Generating the grid and stuff is really taxing for the database. Let's be honest there actually wasn't really much content posted on taketv.net during the hsc3. So I guess the load wasn't that high especially not for the database.
Btw. I am just guessing here but I actually have quite some experience in the IT world.
