Have you considered that if Stephano was better at overlord spreading, he could've scouted the double starport? Someone's already pointed out that this was a weakness in him during game 1. Let's look objectively at the games, then: Stephano's style relies on low-tech units to defend the early game push while getting ultra-fast upgrades that standard builds can never catch up to. Leading in to the mid game, if he holds that push (like Antigua) he is free to mass expand and take map control with his highly upgraded units, then overwhelm with his stronger economy by pumping out a few cycles of drones. Once it's gone to that stage, only a miracle drop/harass can bring terran back to equal economy, so as long as stephano doesn't make terrible engagements, he'll win. And of course being the top player that he is, he doesn't make terrible engagements and wins. That leaves him with one truly vulnerable timing, where he's stuck on mass ling with a few support units (be it roach or bling), where the terran can pick and choose his unit composition from his far superior tech at that point. That's exactly what polt achieved in game 3 (plus some early damage, which made it entirely one-sided) and failed to do with marauder-hellion in game 1. Is that objective enough for you, or do I need to gush more praises for Stephano, first? | ||
