E-Sports is already taken lightly by outsiders, putting us under the "No Life" and "Nerd" column, so why bash our fellow gamers? I've played games from WC2, SC1, WC3, HoN, LoL, and SC2. Obviously I love every game, well, besides HoN it was pretty stupid. That doesn't mean I should be bashing the game, they're other people out their playing the game and if anything if they're good at it and trying to grow the community, I would respect them even more.
E-Sports will never be taken seriously if we continue to put down another community of E-Sports.
Ofcourse i think ESPORTS is amazing, and should get more recognision and social acceptance, but each of the ESPORTS games have their own community. Why should all the different communities bond together and watch eachother games? You don't see a combined Poker/Bridge tournament right? Or a world championship football/basketball.
Each community has its own interests and wants to watch their preferred game. Ofcourse they don't have to shit on games they don't play, but i won't spectate COD/SF/Halo/LOL just for the sake of growing esports, if i don't like those games.

I want to point again that I like the way DreamHack adds to the production quality of SC2 Tournaments. This is why we need to have multiple major tournaments so that they feel the need to add new things.
Love the casters lounge Love the heart monitor Love the in between games caster debate Love the overlays Love the fan statistics Love the arena

Can someone explain how exactly those heart rate monitors work, what part of their body is attached to them and doesn't it bug the players?

This is Dreamhack, not the world cup. Dreamhack is not made for SC2, it's made for eSports. It's only natural that they also show other games.
You shouldn't compare it to "world cups", but more to the olympics or something(not from the prestige etc but from the idea): high level players from different kind of (e)Sports duke it out.

The players in SSF4 are equally as talented in their game as others are in SC2. In fact, a new player to SC2 has a better chance of beating a pro in SC2 than they do in a fighting game. These discussions and outbursts wouldn't even happen if tournament organizers took a hint and stopped interrupting their events and mixing in content that isn't supposed to be mixed in. As far as I'm concerned, until they do take a hint, I won't have a problem with negative reactions. It is fucking Dreamhack you ignorant fool. Dreamhack has been around WAY before fucking SC2. Learn what the fuck you are talking about. Largest E-Sports festival in the world, not largest SC2 tournament in the world. They celebrate e-sports as a whole, not one stubborn ego-ridden community.
I honestly don't care about the stuff you're talking about. All of that is unrelated to my point.
Organize it so there are no interruptions in any events of any games. It is doable, if you have to switch it off the main stage, switch it off the main stage, there's enough space and resources to do both at the same time.

All I understand is that if you have stick failure, you have to forfeit. I don't think I've ever seen a bigger joke in the history of sports or esports.
If you disconnect from a game you need to forfeit in some competitions. So this is the rules DH has here.

I really like the pre-game talk. Nothing too in-depth but good discussion of both players
