Please stop the tournament comparison discussion. Especially regarding players their runs (Stephano seems to be the current topic). Stay on topic and stick to the games. Consequences will be met out to further derailment.
In addition leave the usual out of this topic:
-Balance complaints -Map complaints -Stream complaints -Caster/player bashing -Off topic discussions
Logically continue this list with things that are obviously frowned upon. Enjoy the free and wonderful event with loads of games and coverage! |

For once? Your kidding right. No foreign terran player has one a major live tournament in 1 year.

I am so happy for my countryman NightEnD making it in last 16! Go NightEnD!

White-ra vs DongRaeGu Ret vs Sheth
DongRaeGu vs Sheth I wouldn't be surprised if Nani beat DRG; particularly after MLG.
Genius beating PuMa would also surprise me. Nerchio won't lose a ZvZ and Sheth beating HerO and HuK I think would be considered an upset. Not saying he can't because he is so awesome but yeah..
I can see Nerchio making the finals

Puma will 1-1-1 to victory all day

It wouldn't be a tournament if Sheth and Hero didn't have to play each other in it. -_-
Also holy Protoss batman.

Holy DreamPvP batman.
Welp, I guess we have
GomTvT BliZvZcon And now PvP fest.

I think lots of Terran players like to state the fact that terran isn't doing too well in this tournament to start whining about balance, but the truth is, despite some exceptions, the top 16 reflects pretty much perfectly upon the current Euro SC2 scene. Protoss has always been strong in europe in comparison to Korea so this is only the most predictable of outcomes.
I miss a few players, namely Kas, ThorZain and Stephano, but apart from that, considering the player pool, top 16 reflects pretty well on the reality of EU server. This is clearly not about balance between races, as protoss has always been relatively solid within europe, it's actually about korean terran being above "rest of the world terran", EU mechanics and play just isn't on korean level, which would explain the huge metagame difference between korea and the rest of the world.

I'm really liking the racial distributions this round, its pretty even. 12-10-10. Hopefully it can stay that way through the rounds so we can mitigate the QQ
Damn, I jinxed it. I guess european protoss are too good

Terran is a race that benefits from really good multitasking and micro, there aren't that many top tier non-korean terrans but it's not a balance issue, it will just take some time

thats alot of brotoss bro.

This Tournament plus the last couple of MLGs plus the fact that very soon there's only going to be a handful of Terrans in GSL not to mention the last korean weekly had 3 protoss in the top 4. NASL divisions right now Terrans are for the most part doing badly.

this bracket doesnt seem very random to me
i dont mean its fishy or anything

Why is it that protoss players like HuK, HerO, NaNiwa, SaSe, MaNa etc. get so far in tournaments, not to mention completely right out win them and take down big Zerg and Terran players?
Protoss can't be that bad.

If i remember right, the racial number between 3 races in code S+A last month was 17P-28T-19Z, and this month is 22P-29T-21Z or something.
Of course it's gonna take a while to weed out the Terran because of tournament system, but it's undeniable that Terran is on the decline in GSL.
It's not a bad thing to see it though.

I think the groups were seletcted random, it's A/C, B/F, D/G and E/H 1st vs 2nd in each.

Those are the people in code s next season guaranteed. Thats a handful for sure. Sad thing is there are less for the other 2 races. When will you be happy? 8 terrans?
Round of 32 this season had 19 terran 5 protoss and 8 zerg. That about where you want it? Man. If a few of those terrans dont make it back it will only be because the crappy ones were riding the terran wave and its been brought down to the level of the other races lately. Terran also had half of the round of 16. Got any more complaints? To answer them I'll point out the round of 4. It has 2 terrans. This has been one of the most balanced GSL's in recent memory with zerg having the poorest performance.
