No player/caster bashing, or balance whining. Bans will be handed out like candy. (page 217)

No sexist jokes or anything of that nature either. Be mature people.

Not a funny joke.

That's pretty damn funny. Only a Penn State freshman would deny the hilarity.

Or someone that doesnt think light of child sex abuse. To each their own I guess.

You don't have to think lightly of something to laugh about it.

Mel Brooks taught us that.

Maybe if it didnt come out a week ago.

I wonder if naniwa sold his soul to the devil in exchange for sc2 his sc2 skill. It looks a bit like it if you stare into his eyes.

Nah, it's pretty damn funny. Lighten up.

I know right? Child molestation and sodomy? No big deal.

A lot of dark things in life can be funny man.

Sure they can be, just not when it's about kids.

Jesus. I think it's clear that this whole exchange wasn't at the expense of children. FFS.

I think most of us are happy a foreigner won, but the games weren't all that impressive

Until foreigners start consistently performing at GSl this will persist. I don't believe anything the foreign community has done is being discredited though.

Yeah pretty much. GSL is 'the big one'.

To be honest what we need is for a foreigner to win MLG and then NOT lose in their first round GSL match, which has been happening altogether too often. Makes it look like the win doesn't mean much.

Obviously a foreign GSL win would help a lot.
I'm not bad at Starcraft; I just think winning's rude.

naniwa has a history of being a bit of a douche in the past, hes cool now but a lot of people are sour about him in general

He's also Protoss, people seem to get more behind zergs, at least in my observation. Dunno why.

And actually joking about child molestation can be a good thing. It raises awareness. Think of how Catholic priests molesting altar boys is such a prevalent joke, and thanks to that cultural prevalence the actual crimes aren't ignored and victims are more likely to speak out because the Church has a bad reputation.

Anyway, this is getting terribly off topic.

just my own point of view.. i think people overly sensitive about these things because they get threatened by lack of consistency of sc2 and mvp and nestea are arguably at the peak of dominant sc2 consistency... when anyone can beat anyone, 3x gsl champion or not, then IMO brings into question the depth of sc2 gam... hopefully naniwa can move on to dominate like mvp and nestea has in the past

Except the joke has no punchline unless kids get molested. Which makes it impossible to separate them from it. I'll stop derailing the thread now.

It's because MVP and NesTea didn't look at their best, at least that's the rationale people here are using. Imo it doesn't matter, he beat the 2 best players in the game in a row. No matter if they were playing below their usual level, it's a huge achievement considering how far ahead of everyone these 2 usually are. It's certainly better than anything Stephano has accomplished.

Pen St seems like a poor choice to have the final MLG gaming room thing given all the negative media around it right now.

They probably picked it before all of that.

But they decided to air it anyway, which was the poor choice, picking it was okay, airing during the shitstorm going on, well someone clearly had a lapse in judgment.

Ummm no. You don't see ESPN cancelling the airing of PSU Football games which is where this scandal stems from. They aired a frat at PSU that is not involved in any of the drama getting their house hooked up. That frat has probably raised over a million dollars for child cancer patients through THON you know.

It's because his games were kinda meh. Dunno.

Maybe if it wasn't a special event we'd put more into that win but well it's only a special event which directly proceeds the MLG Nationals so people wouldn't be pulling out all the stops with MLG Nationals literally right after it.
