Congrats to BratOK. Always had a feeling he would take a top 2 spot in his division, although he doesn't seem as obvious of a choice compared to the rest of the players in that group.

Yeah, he's been pretty solid even if he's under the radar a little.

Well Huk was my first choice, being such a top player. But after that I would say a lot of people expected Rain or even Darkforce to take it. Darkforce seems like an obvious choice because he has a lot of tournament history, and Rain is Korean.

BratOK hasn't had as much success, but in the few games I've seen him in, he's a pretty solid EU Terran. Looking forward to what he does in the Grand Finals, now that he finally got his shot.

Everybody who's watched any bw knows that you can never underestimate Bratok even though he hasn't had too much success in sc2.

Oh crap, I placed my bet on Mr.Lapdance.
Good to see Brat_OK advance. I'm happy for him.

Darkforce made some strange decisions in that last game. Seemed like he couldn't decide between Broodlords and Infestors, so got both.

So odd for NASL to use map score, i am so used to H2H to brake ties i had assumed huk would be in first. Playing with that korean lag must of been killer at times unless he just played at the EG house for his games.

Head to head, BratOK is still first, cause he beat Huk tonight...

I wonder what the lag is like, and how much it affects a player's game? I did notice a couple missed or missing FF's from Huk tonight.

I wonder if they might be afraid to a micro intensive strat that involves precise clicking, cutting down their options? I played on the NA server from Singapore, it seemed ok...but I don't have 200 apm!

I think it was a combination of lag and not caring because he is trying to focus on GSL and already having the spot clinched.

i haven't seen the games yet, but i don't think lag was a major factor, or at least it was equally disturbing for both of them. remember that st. petersburg is as far away from california as korea, and even though european server is situated in düsseldorf, there still exists a ping time between a computer in st. petersburg and the server in düsseldorf.
or maybe i'm just biased for my favorite player

I think its true that the delay from Eastern Europe to NA is pretty much the same as the one from Korea. Heard lag complaints pretty often when Russian / Ukrainian players were playing on NA.
For sure it is higher than from Western Europe.

Why would HuK - a professional competitor - not do his best and try to win if he takes the time to play instead of leaving a w.o? Maybe the conditions weren't optimal for whatever reason and he could not perform his best, but I'm sure he's not very fond of losing. Sure as hell not to some Russian dude who then takes the #1 spot and puts him in second.

People say that way too often, I see people saying that almost every day. "He didn't care," or "He wasn't trying his best to win." There are various reasons why a player might perform better or worse in certain games but "not trying" is quite far down the list imo.
