Map of the Month is back! ESL is excited to be providing coverage for showmatches this month, featuring the European pro team Type II. We will be showing off five beautiful community-made maps this Thursday the 3rd at 19:00 CET (7pm) with Phoenix, Real, and DBS facing off and giving their feedback on the games and the maps that they're played on.

For more information on the Map of the Month Organization and how to submit your maps in the future months, see the MotM #9 Submission thread.

This would be hilarious. I dig it. MotM is so cool.

Wonderful.I'm excited about the map feedback part too. It has been discussed that we need to bridge the communication gap between mappers and players. I like how this sounds as a promise to go in that direction.

Is it live casting?

Will there be VODs?

Are there prizes to the players?

Who are the players?

Also, could you explain about the tournament format of those showmatches, compared to what we are used to?

Thanks.

EDIT:

I've made changes to TPW Overgrown recently and this is an updated overview image:

Yes live casted.

Yes there will be VODs.

We'll discuss the prize situation on the show.

The players, Real, Phoenix, and DBS are members of a relatively new European pro team called Type II. They're all very good - every one of them, for example, has already qualified for DreamHack Winter.

The format for this month is going to be a little unique. We're simply going to play one bo3 for each non-mirror matchup. ZvP, ZvT, TvP. We will cycle through the maps, and discuss each between games.

HYPPEEE This is gonna be sick! can't wait to see these maps in action. Slightly sad though that it is only those three guys (although i love their play), prefered the tourney format, but still I missed the MotM

ESv Derelict is a bit 'yo dawg I heard you like ramps...' Should be interesting. Hopefully none of the weird lighting that was in previous MotMs

I think they all have the tileset standard lighting, so we should be covered on that!

A grudgematch showmatch on TPW and ESV maps? Sounds fun, I'll be training!

You should implement a rule, like no games under 10 minutes. This way we can actually see how games develop on this map rather than lazy players doing pseudo all-ins.

Not just "Type 2 team". 3 of them are qualified for dreamhack! (ReaL, DBS and PhoeNiX)

I really like the show, its very tiring to watch games on the same map over and over again for Months. So this is a nice change with beautiful looking maps.
