They never got the opportunity to do State of the Game, due to schedule changes I believe. Next episode is only a couple of days away.

Nothing... only non followers consider Huk a "Foreigner" Anyone who trains in Korea under that atmosphere is considered a "Korean" player. See this makes no sense. The reason that koreans are so good is because they train so hard. If a foreigner moves to korea to become as good as them, why does he suddenly become a korean? If that's true, then koreans will ALWAYS be on top, because everybody will just call the best foreigners korean, regardless of where they practice, just because they adopt the korean method of training. True. The whole "discussion" is stupid but you can't jsut make people korean at a whim. Also HuK is soo short next to plott brothers and co.
The discussion, as it were, is a silly argument over semantics, which only occurs because people are not willing to look at what's really being discussed.
What we learned from this tournament is -
1. "Korean" (ie dedicated, full-time) training is what makes the difference between Koreans and foreigners. 2. While "Foreigner" training is catching up - ie IdrA doing well due to the EG house - it still needs that strong foundation of mechanics that comes with Korean training, which is what IdrA obtained from his time in Korea. 3. The difference between Code S and "Code B" isn't as huge as people think - neither of the two highest Korean finishers in this tournament were in Code S or even in Code A when they came into the tournament.
What we learned from the last few weeks is -
1. Without any "Korean" training, very talented foreigners are still able to do well (ie Stephano), but that talent can only carry you so far when people start "figuring you out." 2. European SC 2 isn't as far ahead of NA SC 2 as Europeans like to think - NA-trained players like Gatored performed better than EU-trained players like Strelok in IEM NY, and even in MLG none of the EU-trained players shone particularly brighter than NA ones.

i'm still hoping for a surprise state of the game/live on three announcement don't think it will happen but would be nice!

Best MLG ever, grats to HuK and all the praise in the world to Sundance.

In that case, he actually won his first MLG last year. Either way, a correction needed to be made. ^.^

But because of the GSL partnership winning a MLG is more impressive than a IPL. Not saying that Stephanos win inn IPL wasn't EXTREMELY impressive!

Honestly this was really tough, cause I believe that MC, STC and IdrA all deserve that code S spot, and are more than capable code S players. It just comes down to who played better and today that was MC. I could honestly see those 3 being interchangeable though, a few small decisions, determined the outcome today.

Huk lives in Korea
EG base is in the US
CONGRATS to Huk, must have been weird to play one of his best friends from Korea in the finals (and a Protoss to boot!). Looks like the old Protoss President just passed his term and the new one just got elected!
Congrats Huk, 2nd Protoss President!!!

Also note that now Huk and Idra get top slots at MLG Providence which has a first place of $50,000. The top 4 seeds there get seeded into round 4 of the winners bracket so that's a huge advantage in a 32 person double elim tourney.

mlg is raping in profits if they are getting away with only giving their winner 5k

I'm not calling Huk the underdog. I'm calling the foreigners underdogs.
Well other than IdrA and HuK there wasn't much of a foreigner showing at the end, although they did good in pool play and the lower rounds.

It's $200,000 this year, and they're giving $50k to the winner of the national championship.
With that same proportion next year could have a $250,000 first place prize for nationals. That's insane.

The real value is in the exposure. Huk makes far more then that from his EG sponsorship deal. MLG by spending the money in production value not prize pool gives the players exposure. Though IPL did a good job with both.
