The rule has been implemented into the MLG system ever since the Halo days. It's because if you're doing good in the winner brackets/pool play, and you meet up again, you should have the advantage because you won, and shouldn't reset to 0-0. If that were the case, some players would just throw games away to get an easier bracket in the losers and work there way back up to the finals easier than it would be playing through the winners. (At least it was like this for Halo) | ||
