Just kind of a sidenote about the LoL numbers, it's worth noting that the best teams in the world are in attendance at IEM, whereas the sc2 players are split between IEM, MLG, and GSL.

That doesn't mean the numbers are less meaningful, just something to note...it's nice to see both games succeeding.

Every single player that logs into LoL client gets an advertisement for it. They have upwards of 500k people logged in at once. It would be pretty easy for a fraction of those people to just click the link and watch.

Whereas you need to know IEM is on for sc2

Hmmm... I personally felt as if Gatored and Aterro came in with builds to take down the Korean players after meticulously studying their playstyle but at the same time came in a bit lacking in regards to playing the non-Koreans which is actually a funny thing to say. Of course, they still played pretty well, a shame that Attero couldn't make it though after that upset over TSL Killer.

I think this would fall under 3.20 Ranking here:
http://gfx.esl-europe.net/gfx/media/masters/rulebook/Intel_Extreme_Masters_SeasonV_Rulebook.pdf

The Ranking is primarily decided with regards to the number of points that a participant has amassed during the season. A participant will earn 3 points for winning a match, and 1 point for drawing a match. The below ranking priority will come into effect if 2 or more teams are on equal points. If at any point, the number of tied participants is reduced or divided into several groups of tied participants, the still tied participants will in each case be compared again starting with the first point.
• Points amassed between the participants themselves ('Mini-League')

------

In short, it looks to me as if the rules give points based on matches, not individual games, and that the first tie breaker is head to head.

Gatored was able to beat Strelok though.

As is said on the CS stream, the CS:GO will start shortly. You just need to be on the CS stream, not the SC2 stream

On the matter of Gatored on DRG for 1st place im pretty sure ESL uses Head to Head over maps won. Someone above me posted something from their rulebook which suggests as much, plus its what they used to settle a few tie breakers in Season 5 Cologne event.

Is it the case that group A is playing group B in the brackets btw? or is it more complicated than that?

Both the Koreans played quite sloppy today. Killer doing the deathball build every game and DRG with questionable engagements. Hope they bring their A games in the following days.

Just watched the interview done by wax with carmac. Really greate questions and a good interview style. Questions got answered really well and if not there was a followup or it was asked again. Really like this one.

Of course an under moderated chat is going to be a "kindergarden". Same could be said about TeamLiquid, any other forum, and real life without the government reinforcing law. This predetermined bias is nonsensical, I moderate chats for many pros and once you weed out the people who just want attention it is a great environment, especially to have Q&A with said pro/streamer.
