I really thought that Stephanos Micro was his biggest strength, but after seeing how he can hold off a 7-8 Gate timing on 3 bases, with +1 AND Lair on the way, how he just manages to get the perfect amount of Drones/Units out in every freaking ZvZ, or how he never misses an inject, even during a crazy battle just showed me, that behind his often flashy and impressive Micro, is a extremely deep understanding of the game and absolutely stunning macro/multitasking. I could actually see him in the Finals of a GSL Code S if he trains a bit in Korea.

I hope he attends. Getting to see Stephano up against the best koreans should be interesting even if he gets stomped. I think most thought it would probably be a 10 korean tournament.

I never thought he would win IPL after his game against Alive. But the game against Kiwikaki was just phenomenal gz Stephano =D

But, you cant really say that Stephano its better then Idra, just because he won against TheSTC. If you did see the games between Idra and TheSTC, the 2 games were like "if i dont try to win in 10 minutes ill lose" That was the mindset of TheSTC on those game. He cheeses on the first game, and made an risky timing attack on the second one, and im say its risky because if idra had scouted that build earlier, probably TheSTC would lose that game, because he cut vce production to make that build, In the second game that Idra won, we all that watched the games sees that just owned TheSTC.. really outclassed him... Im not saying that TheSTC its not good, but in that series, he played the player.. and if you guys see to, after the game that Idra won, MC went to talk to STC, and i have almost 100% that they combine that build for the 3rd game. Really, i think that Idra and Stephano are far the best players outside korea today, in a straight game. If any of you guys watched the games between Idra and Puma in the IEM, or even the games of IPL3 of Idra, he got improved a lot!... He is way stronger, and he is way more offensive player and better mult tasking. You can say that Puma its not great, but everyone must know that after he leaves korea to practice in EG house, his TvT skill has decreased, because the EU and NA ladder doesnt have great top terran players, and he lost to MMA, and 2-0 everyone besides him. But, if you guys would ask, between Idra and Stephano, who are the best? well, That´s a question that is way harder to answer. Between the great players, any player can take a game or a series from anyone, but only the real TOP players can take out Big Tournament, and thats why MVP and Nestea are considerer the best players in the world.. They lose, for sure, but they winrate are better then everyone else... One player im looking for to see playing its OGsSuperNova, his games against DRG on GSL , and the games on WCG Korea, showed that he is playing like a boss.. Anyway, I think after this patch 1.4 was released we are acctually seeying way better games, and i think that the game its more balanced... but i still think, that tvp on small maps are not that balanced..

"Stephano got fucking lucky in his bracket, what a shit tournament" so we get two foreigners winning two major LAN events and these are the comments we get? Why has this community adopted this mindset? :/ Why is it so hard for people to admit IdrA and Stephano are insanely good and both played amazing (I'm especially impressed with Greg and how hard he broke out of his huge slump ![]() On October 10 2011 15:16 nescal wrote: I really enjoy stephano playing... and i follow both EU and NA ladder, aswell the tournaments... But, if you guys would ask, between Idra and Stephano, who are the best? well, That´s a question that is way harder to answer. StC did not cut SCV production in game 3. When he pushed, he expanded, he kept macroing well, he kept making SCVs and he kept applying pressure. Just because IdrA defended awfully and allowed the hellions and marauders inside his main does not make that build an all in or risky in any way. I actually thought it looked pretty safe. In fact, the only danger would have been mutas but I'm positive theStC would have been prepared to deal with them if he hadnt dealt the damage he had. Just because IdrA crumbled to early pressure does not make it cheese or cheesy. if it had been 1 base blue flame-marauder with no SCVs then yes, that's an all in. Red flame marauder with 2 bases and constant SCV production...no.

I mean: Maybe Lucky's ZvZ was his weakest MU, but nonetheless; Stephano beat two very good Korean Zergs in ZvZ in a Bo3 and a Bo7 without dropping a single game - he completely and utterly crushed them! He also beat some of the best foreigners and Koreans in all MU's. The games against alive were kinda weird, alive is very smart and he just did some very strong timings and punished Stephano for not using Banelings and going heavily upgraded Zerglings, which he likes to do a lot for his lategame with Ultras, Cracklings and Infestors. But other than in this Series, Stephano looked almost untouchable. Also, his playstyle involved heavy use of Infestors in EVERY MU and he used Neural Parasite more than any other Zerg I've every seen, so he basically had to revamp his whole playstyle before IPL3. I dare to say that before the patch, he would've raped even harder, cuz his Infestor-Control is just sick.
