I can't believe that a company will provide two free HD streams, have issues completely out of their control and give us free, highly entertaining paid content as compensation, it's disgusting.

This is the worst tournament ever.

these are games from the open bracket of IPL 3 and are live. Pool play is suspended due to internet problems that are out of IPL's control.

Honestly, I think the stream and the interface look AMAZING.
I think that the whole thing has been done REALLY well and it's very professional
and I think that people shouldn't hate on IPL for internet problems which Blizzard
should have not allowed to be a problem with a tournament version of the game
a long time ago.

And about big macs it's easy, 2 hours after eating at mac donald's you're hungry. If you eat the same calories with normal food you're not hungry until the next normal lunch time.

people keep talking about production value too but really it's still miles behind gsl in every way possible.

I love GSL and still do but the production value at IPL 3 is so much better. Unfortunately they're being plagued by technical problems.

How is it better? GSL is practically monthly. IPL had a long time to prepare this.

6 streams, video quality is superior, and there's more women. How can you prepare for a truck knocking down the internet pole?

oh bullcrap. 6 streams and how many actually show starcraft? It is more like 2 starcraft streams. The tournaments aren`t even comparable because GSL lasts a month not a weekend. If GSL had to make an event like 1-3 times a year they could do the same thing.

You are absolutely right. GSL never had any problems and Tasteless speach about technology, was a rant on the immorality of modern sociaty. People seem to have a very short memory. GSL during its first two seasons was hell for anyone to watch a lot of the times.

LOL when GSL has a problem it does not last practically a whole day.

No, it only lasts months. You obviously didn't watch the first few seasons, they had the same problems every day and some days you couldn't watch for hours because the streams were down. Even though the streams are STILL awful quality.

That is not true for everyone. I did not encounter streaming problem for HOURS..not sure what you are talking about here unless you mean the VODS

The biggest thing is how much better the Korean internet infrastructure is compared to the rest of the world.

If you hold this tournament in Korea, they would never have had these issues.

Not to take anything away from GSL of course. They still do an excellent job of making sure nothing ever goes wrong.

Seriously I don't care about the problems. I'm disappointed yes, but I'm more sad for IPL than for me.
Yesterday was an amazing night, the panels, the games, the interviews, the multiple streams. It's a starcraft festival. As long as everything ends well there will be no problem imo.

Same here. For me it was the best streaming SC2 event I have seen yet. What I saw yesterday was excellent and today despite all the problems the content, despite being completely unscheduled, has also been excellent.

Only Lindsey Sporrer could make it more excellent.

Has GSL had its internet cables cut? IGN did have backup satellites, but they weren't good enough to provide lagless enough games - thats why we could watch the stream of the broodwar games. They could have had more trucks, but at the same time I think alot of people are feeling ridiculously entitled to this free event - they even gave us SOMETHING during the downtime - ala the broodwar and the silly interviews. They have been trying, and I think thats the most commendable thing. Cut them some slack, if you don't want to wait with some of the difficulties just catch the inevitable VODs - its the same for all live events (MLG has stupid downtime between games, a lot of people seem to forget this too - its not a perfect gold standard yet sadly).

The first seasons I watched of GSL the stream was either frozen stuck or a slide show.

i had weeks where gsl was unwatchable completely. You must have forgotten the hundreds of hate threads and posts from europeans for whom the stream was unwatchable for months, due to bandwidth limitations on goms end.
