I honestly don't get why Blizzard can't make a LAN possible for ONLY these events. Many of them attend in the first place. It can't be that complicated?

it's not complicated at all, but if that leaks out (which it will, because things like that always do) it defeats the purpose entirely of having no lan. not going to argue whether that would be a good thing or not, but that's more than likely the reasoning.
