Ya, lately Idra's been mixing in more all-ins ZvP, I feel it's made him a better player for it. It annoys me to hear the commentators calling him the 'man who never cheeses'... cuz Idra does. Just cuz he isn't very good at it sometimes =p.

Gotta say, wasn't expecting Idra to break out of his mini-slump in this tournament. Guess he's getting back into Korea-shape (when does he go back anyways?).

Idra's ZvT and ZvZ seem to be back in great form. No idea why he's insisting on playing ZvP like he did 7 months ago though, there have to be better options than roach hydra corruptor with late hive even with the infestor nerf. Almost felt like him giving Elfi a chance lol, since Elfi was so obviously outclassed.

Nice performance by EG. And nice to see Idra winning again.
To be honest I was pretty surprised to see Elfi in the finals, and I'm not so surprised by the outcome.

Thank god IEM dont use extended series or that final would have been weird! Only game of the tournament I managed to wake up for but great to see how the groups and brackets all played out. I guess Idra's critics may have to give it a week or 2

By the way, I do think that the patch reset the ZvP match-up a bit, so as a result deathball versus roach/hydra/corruptor will make a resurgence until (hopefully) new timings are figured out. The problem with that strategy is that it honestly doesn't reward skill of either player too much, it just punishes one or two bad engagements. So yeah, it's not "outplaying" when Idra gets a better economy that game and can remax on roaches, since honestly it's pretty easy for a pro, but at the same token it's also not outplaying if Elfi would've won, it's just a stupid strategy.

Nope he still did it, you can get punished on maps like XNC, Metal, Typhon Peaks for a 1gate expo... very risky. But I'm sure Elfi doesn't want to fall behind in econ to Idra of all players so he chose to take that risk and hope that Idra was comfortable playing a macro game (considering Idra had won the two macro games at that point).
