ASUS ROG Stars Invite is a fully invitational tournament. Eight top players from around the world will be competing to get a slice of the whoopin 10 000 USD prize pool. Players will be invited based on their results and perfomance in StarCraft II. To promote Finland and light up the crowd one Finnish player will be invited.

The ONLY thing they've said about geography of invited players is 1 Finn and 7 others (I'll repeat)
from around the world

+ Show Spoiler +
however, Finland isn't exactly the easiest destination for Koreans or N.Americans so I wouldn't expect more than one Korean (or non-EU player). Like we saw at Assembly summer; 1 Korean, 1 TW player and 1 N.American (from Korea) out of 32.

Oh thank god for living near Helsinki! Definitely going to this! I'd kill to cast something like this :<

Finn will no doubt either be Elfi, Naama, Fuzer (my personal favourite) or Welmu imo :D

The huge tragedy is that Stephano is not invited ! :'(
They took the guys with the bigger fan base and "cmon let's do this!"

this tournament was announced on the 29th of September and the players were probably picked and invited beforehand

that was before stephano won iem or eswc
you can't blame them for not being psychic.....

You guys sure about that time? 12-20EST and 9-19 EST doesn't make much sense. EST is Eastern Time which in local Finnish time would mean that it would be 19-03 and 16-02.

Why on earth would a tournament run until 3AM in the morning?

I'm pretty sure that is just a mistake and it should be EET http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Eastern_European_Time
