Meanwhile, you have DRG vs the winner of Supernova/Alive. Imo, nearly a free pass to the Ro8 for him (most likely, anyway).

A huge success for the struggling Protoss race, surely they are catching up again.

But yeah of course, racial frustration plays a huge part in how innovative people are. You're a lot more likely to solve a problem when you think it's possible to do so. A frontronner really helps in situations like this (eg. Nestea) as players know someone is good enough to overcome whatever imbalance there may or may not be (and so player's skill is the limiting factor).

Wow CoCa totally worked on his ZvT. I guess gaving Slayers practice partners pays off in a terran GSL.

Terrans are ahead->they get more ahead Protoss are dying->they start dying even more this makes me concerned about the role Blizzard plays with balance. I was already concerned about it, but if players are so reliant on what could be little more than placebos then that's something that is very worrying. Not to get into a brood war debate, but i hear time and time again that it was up to players and map makers to balance the game back then, and how players would come up with builds that just changed the match up (Savior in ZvP or something, i think? someone who actually watched a game correct me on this one please).
I know its still early days (and i do subscribe to the 'game is still young' notion), but if the psyche of the 2011 SC2 Progamer is that of needing third party injections of confidence then that's an awful situation.

Well well the patch really seems to have brought protoss back on the map again. Good stuff. Or until terrans figure out the new timings and counters

Apparently Alive is quite good, looking forward to that match if it comes up.
