Really dont understand people. They cheer to all hell for foreigners and predict they will win, then when they lose [in whatever fashion, good or bad] flip out and say self deprecating things like koreans are unbeatable Gods and foreigners shouldnt be given spots, yada yada yada. Even when the foreigner in question already won against his first round opponent and therefore, by definition did not waste and did earn his spot.

So utterly irrational.

It's so depressing to read all the bad comments about Sjow! Why not give him some credit for trying his best to compete vs really strong koreans while other foreigners sitting at home.
And did you see his happy face even after losing? It seems he is just enjoying this great experience.

Better luck next time Sjow!

because it's not a matter of trying; if you're not good enough to be in code a you just shouldn't be.

Pretty sure Huk go to the Ro8 in his first Code A and then got romped by Losira. Who would then go on to win Code A.

Huk then got to Code S through the old Up-and-Down system.

First code A after like 2 months in korea

huk was also seeded, he didn't qualify.

Would be more rational if you consider that different people have different opinions, no?

Sjow needs to force himself to become faster. Maybe taking away all the easy SC2 UI features would help him improve. Like others, I do believe what is holding Sjow back is his speed and right now becoming faster player should be priority #1.

It's entirely possible that you're observing two separate groups of people with differing opinions.

nope, it's easier if you generalize and see the forum community as a collective entity, because you know, we communicate telepathicly and stuff

My thoughts exactly.. he got 3 times outclassed here. Who did he play against in RO32?

Maka. Sjow's TvT is pretty good and Maka messed up a few big things.

Not really, he didnt mess few things, tell what actualy happened...Maka destroyed him G1, and then in G2 he started prematurely BMing by making bm expos, but actauly failed killl him.

Anyhow, i dont want to say i told you so, but i did say after that match, hf in r16 vs serious oponent sjow. I dont know why fans hype him so much, he doesnt have apm for playing vs decent koreans.

Well it is simply because high level play comes first and then our foreign sweet hearts.

people simply want to see the best. they want high quality games and it is a big bonus if it is a foreigner displaying high quality play. We love the foreigners but it doesn't change the fact that high quality and talent comes first. When we don't see high quality play, we are simply let down and make a racket. immature, yes, but not irrational.

No.

1) I could [but we all know the truth so its pointless] quote and show that these are often the same people who say he will win and gogo foreigners and then flip out and commit the aforementioned behaviour. Irrational

2) Its irrational to say they dont deserve to be in Code A given they got there through MLG qualifiers and, even if there is doubt to be had about that, actually won through the first round.

To sum up: The last couple pages of random shit about Sjow not deserving to be here, or koreans being unbeatable and on a thousand different levels is irrational.

No foreigner has actually qualified since the open seasons. Everyone else got seeds.

I wish they would be up so I can vote, today I am going for Select, Monster, HerO, and SjoW. Hope that the foreigners will be able to advance further.

Lol..... omfg..... he should be glad liquibets weren't up, it would've been 0 for 4....

Probably because the time between the Ro32 and Ro16 was too short.

Why in the heck hero made a dark shrine after his phoenix scouted overseer? Or at least not cancel it? It was clear that dark templars won't pay for themselves at the time.

apart from the foreigners from that code A which was won by losira, every other foreigner got seeded via results (top results in MLG, road to korea). Huk was just seeded because... umm he well. no reason. i think he was voted on in a teamliquid thread.
